How can any religion/law justify loss of life over naming an inanimate object?

I do understand why they are not taking it against hte child who named the teddy, she was in charge of the children adn they are only minors, still, no excuse for what they have done though.

And to those who say she should have learned the laws of the land first, do you know every single law of your own land let alone every one you've ever visited? I doubt it. I certainly don't.

This is why I have a problem with the concept of 'moderate' Muslims, . This was not some extremist group that kidnapped the teacher, not some fundamentalists that 'moderates' can dismiss as being atypical and non-representative. This was an official arrest by a Muslim government.
The problem I have is that the evil, the stupidity and the intolerance is inherent in the religion, not the followers. There may be nice people trying to follow Islam, just as there are descent people who say they are christian, but it is they who are out of line with the barbaric faith they are part of.

Because you are of 'normal' thinking and come from civilised society you,me and millions of other people cannot grasp the reasoning behind these fanatics mind set. What we must understand is these people are no more than barbarians/savages that have no concious, morals or regard for any human life.A typical year in a muslim fanatics life might include: The beheading and dismembering of a female member of the family because she chose to opt out of the arranged marriage, The lashing and beating of the wife because she looked at another man, The torture and execution of anyone that doesnt believe what they believe, im sure you could add a few examples. The trouble is that now the world is a smaller place, and it is so easy to get around it. Back in the early days( bible times)These savages were stuck in the middle east and just had each other to fight (you can see evidence of this in the bible, nearly every chapter involves a war) During these present times modern technology has inadvertently helped these war hungry cultures spread across the globe from their origins and cause havoc and destruction amongst societies that live a relatively free existance (compared to them anyway) Because they cant escape their given faith, through fear of terrible consequences from fellow peers, they want to destroy the lives of us who are free to choose our own beliefs.

First of all its only some people who are marching, doesnt mean rest of the world no matter what faith are all behind this, it only shows how serious some people are about their faith, some Sudanese people believe it sets a bad example because what about the next time & how it might be more controversial, what about the next time somone names something out of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), look how the Prophet Jesus (Peace Be Upon Him) is portrayed these days, mocked, made fun out of, films out of, etc, Muslims dont want that, even little things like this case your are mentioning in Sudan can cause controversy, maybe it is over the top but thats why still this day Muslims are sensative about their faith, Religion is not justifying it neither is law, its only some people who are as i said sensative about their faith (Islam) & want to keep limits on what can be said about the religion & its Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), it doesnt matter if its an object or a person but its the principle, if this is seen as a minor case then what about the next time? then slowly & slowly Islam will be as Chrisitanity & other religions where ppl can mock , say what & do what they want about their religion & others so basically some ppl in the Islamic world dont want that to happen & want to set a example, so i would say show respect to the law & accept it, as long the teacher doesnt be punished but warned in what she can do & cant then all seems reasonable, Non-Muslims wont understand but i dont expect the Non-Muslims to be fair on this & understand, its only natural Non-Muslims will react in anger but i say plz try to understand some ppl's particualarly Muslims thinking/mentality in this, its also a misunderstanding, some of the ppl marching i belive dont even know what actually happened, some things are made a big deal out of but also should'nt been seen as some minor case either, Peace.

I'm thinking that the Government has used this episode to stir up trouble against the UK and it's all tied up with the trouble in Darfur where the same Government has murdered thousands of innocent civilians. The Sudanese government is using religion (The opiate of the masses) for its own purposes and the people follow the lead like sheep while they rape, stone and abuse females on a daily basis.

They don't want us there any more than we want them in our country.

The teddy bear case is a flop. There are no grounds for a death . The Spiritual Law is for the Spiritual domain of perfection. Nothing on earth has reached such perfection, and to use the Spiritual Laws and Language in such a manor is not right.

These people are probably illiterate. They can't check up on these things for themselves. It is easy to see how rumours could spread and things be exaggerated out of all proportion. They may well have been given to understand that this infidel teacher has come to Sudan deliberately to pollute the minds of Sudanese children and teach them to insult the prophet. If they had access to the entire story, I doubt that they would have taken to the streets.

Besides, the school secretary, who apparently is behind the reporting of this matter to the police, has to justify the stand she took. Who knows what rumours have emanated from that source?

If that is what Islam is you can keep it, these people still live in the 2ND century with no hope and the more others suffer the better for them.
Let them boil in their own misdeeds and let them educate their own kin, pull out all resources if that is how they want to live.

Id rather turn my back on any religion if this is how they behave, My souls is to the creator and only him not for anyone else to take.

It is so infuriating! How can religion drive people to such savage ways! - Lack of education is one reason, i am sure, why this brutality is seen as acceptable. It is ironic then that she has been unjustly punished whilst trying to teach kids the best she can.

Also, if this is such a big mistake, then why is the school not being looked into for not properly training people who are ignorant to their way of life and religion who work there.

I am appauled at all of this brutality that is carried out through religion!

My daughter felt the full onslaught of racism yesterday. She asked a Polish girl at work what her race was, as she clearly did not originate from Poland. The girl took offence and reported her for racism. Education is wasted on some people, she didn't even bother to look up the word in the dictionary!!

I have a different view - why is she being persecuted when it was the kids that chose the name - surely in such an 'honest' and 'strict' society, that has no real bad marks against it (that's a joke by the way) - they should be flogging the kids or jailing them. They chose the name.

Just goes to prove - one law for them and one for us - just a show of strength against us Western Infidels -

How about we remove all the financial aid to this god forsaken hole of a country as punishment to them.

Then we'll hear some whinging - won't we.
