On the forth of July people go see fire works. They are attracted to fire from ancient fire worship.
Jesus was falling back on the fire worship tendency to attract worship to himself.

1 Timothy 2:11-12 – "A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent."

She asked Jesus to turn water into wine and so I was wondering, when she realised her birth control pill had failed and had to tell Joseph the worst lie ever, did she hit the bottle to cope with her life?
And to all those 'Christians' who will now call me names(if this gets posted!) do as you preach forgiveness and all that!

They do it as if we're all a bunch of crazy Christians. Why do they assume that we all follow their beliefs? Many of us are atheists, Muslims, Jewish, agnostic, or believe something else. So shouldn't they be more sensitive to other, non-Christian beliefs?

Isn't the difference between these nothing more than a matter of degree? It's obvious that if Christians were actually in charge of the US, it would be just as bad as the Sudan. Do you agree?

No fool would buy that. Its gone out the door as far as Im concernced. Dont say its a few extremists because almost the entire country of Sudan want to see the teacher dead

It is not with the intent of posing this question for you to be defensive and voice your scorn at me. I have no bad feelings toward you as I believe we all must make our choices in life.

As a Christian I don't take everything in bible teaching as literal and certainly do not agree with the ungodly concept of such a place as Hellfire. I myself have been judged as unChristian because I have challenged such a literal place. It doesn't bother me.

Why does it bother some here when someone says that if you are not a Christian you will be sent to 'hell' and tormented?

If you don't believe such a literal place exists then why even get defensive when someone makes this unkind judgement?

I'm only beginning to learn about wicca, much to my shame, as someone I was very close to was wiccan. I regret that I never took the time to learn more about something that meant so much to her.

My question is, what happens concerning relationships we have in this incarnation when we get to the Summerland? Do we still have the same feelings for those we loved or hated, or are those feelings gone? If we caused great pain to someone, would they be given the understanding of why it was done?

I was told that if a soul tires of the cycle, or simply doesn't wish to continue, it can choose to cease to be. Is this a common belief?

I have many more questions but I guess I should at least try and be brief. I'm sorry if these seem rather basic questions but the websites I've been to don't really explain much beyond the existence of Summerland.

I thank any and all that are willing to help me understand.

What proof do you have?

The Bible? The Koran?

If there is only one way to God, would that make him narrow minded.?

I don't think I could worship such a prejudicial deity.

This book contains rules for living which sound just and good. If you read it, you'd most likely choose to live according to its teachings.

Of course, the book was written by my own self, and there are elements of my own personal bias in it. Basic human respect is paramount. Killing is okay if it's in revenge. Rape, murder, theft, and other crimes are bad. Some drug use is acceptable.

Years pass. Decades. Centuries. That book has changed hands through generations and generations. Although I, the original author, have long since turned to dust, the text I penned lives on.

Over time, some of the caretakers of my holy text have had their own ideas about some of its elements, and as a result they edit my original words, or append to the text some of their own essays or gospels rooted in their own philosophy or morality.

Based upon this, could you trust that the words you're reading can be trusted to be mine and mine alone, pristine from my mind and influenced by no other?

"For the customs of the peoples are worthless; they cut a tree out of the forest, and a craftsman shapes it with a chisel, they adorn it with silver and gold; they fasten it with hammer and nails so it will not totter." (Jeremiah 10:3-4)

It has been labelled as a worthless act by God but Christians are still practising it. Why!

Regarding the fact that no Muslim has spoken about the bear issue, and the present trouble going on,
Is it possible that our R&S Muslims are embarrassed by the actions those others have taken, and don't know how to respond? I have met some decent ones here, and think it likely they themselves are confused at this time.
They are not all alike.

Any really obvious ones, I could actually show the person?
