He did.

"The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life – only to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father" (John 10:17-18).

The Romans. Only they had the authority to put a man to death, and only they practised crucifixion. Plus Jesus was only a threat to them, because he was a political activist.

The NT was written by men who did not witness the crucifixion and most of them, including Paul, never met Jesus. The NT was for Roman eyes, hence the blame for killing Jesus was shifted squarely onto the Jews.

But it made no sense for the Jews to have wanted to get rid of Jesus. They were used to false messiahs; Jesus was merely one more. And given that the Romans were murdering at times up to 100 Jews a day, they had far bigger problems to contend with than some young Jewish radical who fancied himself as the messiah IF indeed Jesus claimed to be that.

According to all 4 gospels the Jews asked the Romans to put Jesus to death. The Roman Governor didn't see any wrong from Jesus that deserved death, but did so to appease the Jews. Ultimately we ourselves put our Lord to death. Our sins produce in us death, Romans 6:23. It was known since the beginning that forgiveness required the shedding of blood, Hebrews 9:23. This death had to be paid for but the sacrifices of animals could not do it, Hebrews 10:4. Jesus lead a sinless life in order to be that sacrifice for us, Hebrews 9:28 and 10:9-11. He could have called thousands of angels at any moment to take Him off the cross, but Jesus' love for us is what kept Him there 1 John 4:9-10.

Most Christians will say the jews killed Jesus, but it is not so. Jesus said that no man could take His life, and He gave it up for us all, on His own. He didnt have to HE could have looked up to Father God and said I DONT WANT TO DO IT, but He didnt. And, as HE was dying, what love He showed, by saying FATHER FORGIVE THEM< THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO. He died for us all, yet so many hate Him and mock Him. How could anyone say No to Jesus? Its something I cant understand. But I do know that one day all will KNOW and call Him Lord and will bow, but for so many, it will be too late. YOu must choose for Jesus before you die or He returns to take us home. ITs all precious choice............

Satan. Lucifer. Beelzebub. What else do we call him?

Jesus was a sacrificial lamb that gave Himself freely to atone for our sin nature...you know, the sins of the father thing that got us all condemned before we even had a chance to mess up on our own? That original sin thing that needed to be fixed? So, there had to be something big enough to be able to sacrifice, yet beat death. What if God sent His own Son down to earth, allowed Him to die a sacrificial death, BUT pull Him back up out of the grave after three days; thereby, beating death...which was the penalty for sin. It isn't that hard to figure out.

I know you're looking for someone to say that the Jews had him condemned...It didn't work that way in Roman times. Herod didn't have the authority to execute anyone...he had to hand the case off to Pilate who did. Only the ROMAN authority had the right to condemn a person death.

PEACE!

No one. He gave up his own life that we will have eternal life. John3;16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever beliveth in his shall not persih but, have everlasting life. Please don't talk about what you don't know God let his son die for us and he raised again to show that he was Christ. His blood was shed for the remission of out sins so we can have eternal life that was the NEW COVENANT.

He died for your sins as well as for the sins of all humanity. Therefore we all brought about His death. We need to all take responsibility for our part and approach Him with humility and repentance so that we can be reconciled to Him.

Hope that helps.
