The disciples knew that Jesus was somehow connected with God throughout his earthly ministry. Thomas made the statement the other brother mentioned after his resurrection.

Throughout the Epistles of Paul and others in the New Testament we find references to God and Jesus used synonymously.

In Paul's epistle to the Philippians 2: 5Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:
6Who, being in very nature[a] God,
did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
7but made himself nothing,
taking the very nature[b] of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
8And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
and became obedient to death—
even death on a cross!
Later Paul writes "in him dwelt all the fullness of the godhead bodily" which testifies to his deity.

The point is that Jesus was God made manifest in this world to live as one of us, but without breaking any of God's laws in order to atone for the sins of all humanity for all times. Thus providing salvation for all and freedom from satanic dominion.

The disciples didn't really know Jesus until the Holy Spirit came into their life and made them remember all that they had heard and seen. Just as most men today, they do not understand the Word of God, but with the help of the great teacher, who teaches about Jesus who is the Holy Spirit inside of us, we can know.

i understand clearly that Jesus is the only son of God that was sent to save the sins of humanities and so he died on the cross for that purposed. This i would like you to hear my side. This is my example " We are a family with all my brothers and sister the same surname. Let us say our family surname is Al Thani( pls forgive me for using this surname). Everybody in the family is surnamed Al Thani including the father. But the respect between sons and the father is different, There is only one God the creator and there is only son Jesus or the servant of God, the annointed one.Pls remember their respective position is different between the son and the father. The respect with your father is different than the respect with you. God is Great!!

Dear Hamad,

thank you for this question that of course many others are puzzled about too,

you always have to keep in mind that what God did on earth is way beyond our understanding, but He surely also wants to have us understand as much as our human minds can,...

Please keep in mind that God the Son, Jesus, was in the form of man, and did live a perfect man, proving that all humanity can too whenever they are in submission to the Divine person, the God head, the Father. Jesus did live as a man, in perfection to open the door for us. He was and still is our example in all what He lived, that is how He became the leader among His disciples.
you can put "Hamad" in the place of "Jesus" whenever you are in full submission to the Father through the leading of His Spirit, the Holy Spirit. That is what Jesus meant when He said that whatever He did, we can do too and even greater. that is when we are in harmony with God.

Wouldn't you be happy to see that life available and possible to you?!

Again, please broaden your scope of your thinking as this IS surely beyond your understanding and mine.

He was the Son of G-d. As Acts states that that would be after the crucifixion. Although Jesus is the Son of G-d, he was born of human mother and lived with ordinary parents. And I believe Jesus himself at one point states that he his just a man. The apostles often referred to him as Rabbi (Hebrew for teacher) which is what he was, really.

because he was GOD manifested in FLESH 1 Tim 3:16
just like the prophet Isiah said of him in Isiah 9:6

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

You mean like the Apostle Thomas, who said (to Jesus) "My Lord and my God!"

John 20:28.

Please note that Jesus did not correct Thomas and say: "Oh, no...don't call me that!"

Heb. 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. 2:10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. 2:11 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, 2:12 Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee. 2:13 And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me. 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; 2:15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. 2:16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.
