Regarding the fact that no Muslim has spoken about the bear issue, and the present trouble going on,
Is it possible that our R&S Muslims are embarrassed by the actions those others have taken, and don't know how to respond? I have met some decent ones here, and think it likely they themselves are confused at this time.
They are not all alike.

Because there is no defense for, in this case, a teacher that many want killed. It doesn't matter to Muslims that she did nothing wrong. She did not name the teddy bear Mo hammed. She did not encourage the naming of a stuffed toy.
A religion of peace? I think not. If in fact it were, I would expect to hear and see millions of Muslims protesting the actions in Sudan. But, I hear and see nothing.

I posted a question about this earlier. I know that not all Muslims support the lunacy over the teddy bear, but I do think we need to hear from them. In London some months back, thousands of furious Muslims marched and screamed and threatened death to British people just because Rushdie was knighted. Ditto over the Danish cartoon.

I really feel that Muslims and non Muslims should all join forces and march together to let the British authorities know that we expect them to direct their full efforts and wrath at Sudan.

As you can see many are speaking out, saying the penalty is too lenient and calling for execution. Anyone who thinks theism is not dangerous should read this:

"KHARTOUM, Sudan - Thousands of Sudanese, many armed with clubs and knives, rallied Friday in a central square and demanded the execution of a British teacher convicted of insulting Islam for allowing her students to name a teddy bear "Muhammad." "

Jed, despite the question I asked earlier, I do agree with you.

Thing is, those who disagree with the extremists really do need to make it a priority to speak out against them. By staying silent, it appears as if they give their consent.

Silence can mean only ONE of two things.

1. They agree with and support what's going on.

or

2. They are afraid that speaking up will cause them to meet with deadly violence.

"religion of peace" indeed.

Most probably have jobs they need to be doing right now

Answering EVERY question about this would be a full-time job, by itself

They're silence proves that I was right about Islam being a religion of violence.

You may be correct. I do not think all Muslims are radical.

There are also Christain terrorists that bomb abortion clinics and kill abortion doctors.

Absolutely not embaressed at all my friend. I would be embaressed being Christian knowing you have lunatics like Bush and Blair calling themselves devout Christian.
