We are told by the Bible that Jesus appeared to hundreds of people. We therefore know that it is OK for Jesus to appear to people -- it does not take away their free will, for example.
We are told that it would be easy for Jesus to appear to everyone, since Jesus is all-powerful and timeless. We know that, if Jesus did reappear to everyone, it would be incredibly helpful. We could all know, personally, that Jesus is resurrected and that Jesus is God. If Paul (and all the other people in the Bible) needed a personal visit to know that Jesus was resurrected, then why not you and me?
Yet, we all know that Jesus has not appeared to anyone in 2,000 years.
Why do you suppose that is?

Supposedly we will suffer in torment for Eternity for not believing in Jesus.
And yet his own apostles, who had lived with him for years, did not believe until he appeared to them.
But Christians say that God expects us to believe, simply on the basis of a translation of a cobbled-together version of a book of dubious origins written generations after the fact. This seems unreasonable to the point of absurdity.
And no one and nothing talks back in answer to my prayers.

Great question that I would always like to ask to the believers.
See the irony here... God sent his son 2007 years back trying to let the world know that he was the God. He chose a wrong time because there were no communication systems that time. And he addressed to only a bunch of people in a remote place of Israel. And the purpose was very little.
Now, it is the perfect time. Since few decades, whatever happens in one part of the world would be known to other within seconds. If God really has the will to show himself like he did 2007 years back, he could have come in last decade itself. He could have avoided many religious fights, wars and violence.

Hi there
Difficult to say that Jesus has not appeared to anyone in 2000 years. There are many people who claim to have seen Jesus and have experienced a radical transformation in their lives as a result.
Jesus left the earth to be with His Father in Heaven (Mark 16, Luke 24) - this was done for 2 reasons. Firstly to confirm Jesus' status as the Son of God and secondly so that He could send the Holy Spirit to be with us.
Jesus has already said that He will reveal Himself to us and does so by the Holy Spirit. The only circumstances under which He will reveal Himself to all men is described in Revelation and by then it might be a bit late to say "oohhh, you ARE the Son of God"
Seriously though, faith is believing in what is unseen and deciding to live a certain way based on the Truth of the Gospel. When I became a Christian I had a very personal experience of Jesus which turned my world upside down.
And no, I am not mentally ill, retarded, naive or any such thing. But like many thousands of others have found a faith in God to be intellectually and existentially satisfying.

I understand your question, especially because a face-to-face interview would change the hearts of a lot of people., including some who I love very much.
I don't have an answer as to "WHY" - I've actually asked and not gotten anything other than the standard "then there wouldn't be faith".

If Jesus appeared before the masses right this second; how many people do you think would really believe it was Jesus? There is little doubt in my head that someone would classify Him as just another "Mind Freak".

That's not in God's plan. What Jesus has done and is doing is in perfect accordance with God's plan to redeem mankind to Himself. BTW, God's timing is also perfect. Actually, one day Jesus WILL appear to EVERYONE proving that He is the Risen Lord.

Faith is believing what you do not see.
Those lacking in faith in Christ must SEE the real thing-----
Those of us who KNOW Jesus is real--enjoy Him in our hearts --and our days--and believe He is there in our storms and our good days--sad days-He's just THERE--right beside us --all the way.
He appeared in my heart the VERY MOMENT I ASKED Him to forgive me and come into my heart,.....
