I believe in God and stuff but this rapture thing is the most craziest nut-job story I've ever heard.

Seems everytime someone answers a question, which is someones personal opinion....the religion of peace seem to use foul language and threaten by e-mail. I think the religion of peace is the religion of hatred.

reworded question:

Is it logical for a woman who has had a child out of wedlock to preach against condoms and birthcontrol? I felt sorry for her because she seemed like the many women who go through that, they break down and give up to the church feeling depressed and then years later say this stuff.

Those who follow religion seem to save all sorts of people- all sorts of sinners. And yet most want atheists to go to hell?

Now, without any prejudice or religion (or lack thereof) bashing, please share your favorite scripture or quote, or both. Please explain what they mean and why you like it.

AND

2nd Nephi 2:28

7 Yea, and there shall be many which shall say: Eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow we die; and it shall be well with us.
8 And there shall also be many which shall say: Eat, drink, and be merry; nevertheless, fear God—he will justify in committing a little sin; yea, lie a little, take the advantage of one because of his words, dig a pit for thy neighbor; there is no harm in this; and do all these things, for tomorrow we die; and if it so be that we are guilty, God will beat us with a few stripes, and at last we shall be saved in the kingdom of God.

Lately, I feel confused about god. Recently I accepted Jesus Christ as my savior, but theres one problem, I feel like I was just saying the words and going through the motions and I want to mean every word so badly but theres this empty feeling when I say them. I'm not very old, so I was wondering is this just a phase alot of people go through? Or is there something more to it and should I talk to someone about it?

Recently, in a conversation, I was advised by a Christian that generally, the reason why non Christians reject Christianity is there is something about their lifestyles that Christianity deems a "sin." Since they don't want to lose that part of their lifestyle, they reject Christianity.

Personally, I find it rediculous. However, I am curious... how many of you are against Christianity because it is against something that you practice/stand for/live/etc? Like, homosexuals, or wiccans for instance, may just not like Christianity period, or may have otherwise been neutral or maybe even for it, if it weren't for Christianity's attack on their ways.

Just curious about your thoughts on the matter

What is that one saying by Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) regarding the interaction between the opposite sexes? It is something about a man and woman never being alone because the devil is between them. I need the exact quote please and thanks.

it is a big shame that "pathetic" doesn't somehow fit into the word.

That you feel you told as many people close to you as you could about heaven and hell and judgement. Or do you hold off on some people because it seems they won't be receptive, or you might get embarrased.

Is there a beyond? Because you are not interested in the everyday things and the happenings around you, you have invented a thing called the 'beyond', or 'timelessness', or 'God', 'Truth', 'Reality', 'Brahman', 'enlightenment', or whatever, and you search for that. There may not be any beyond. You don't know a thing about that beyond; whatever you know is what you have been told, the knowledge you have about that. So you are projecting that knowledge. What you call 'beyond' is created by the knowledge you have about that beyond; and whatever knowledge you have about a beyond is exactly what you will experience. The knowledge creates the experience, and the experience then strengthens the knowledge.
What you know can never be the beyond. Whatever you experience is not the beyond. If there is any beyond, this movement of 'you' is absent. The absence of this movement probably is the beyond, but the beyond can never be experienced by you; it is when the 'you' is not there.

Why not just say - God, or whoever you are, a lot of people say that you are real. A lot of people say you aren't. I don't know who to believe because people are liars, thieves, wicked and evil in all situations so why not in religion? I would like to know the real truth, as it comes from you - not Jimmy Swaggart, Tammie Faye and Jim Bakker, Jerry Falwell - no but from you alone. If you can show me your real nature in the next few days, I will never ever believe a man or woman again who claims to know you but then goes about their life setting nothing but bad examples.
Of course this would require an open mind and so many people who just can't believe in God don't have the ability to open their minds. You're missing out.
