No, it was a doctrine invented by Nelson Darby in the mid-1800's. No other Christian talked of anything even close to that before that. None.

Actually, the WORD "rapture" isn't in the Bible, but the premise behind it is all over it! The word "rapture" comes from the Greek word "rapare" meaning "to snatch away or seize". It was used to describe the part of Scripture in which the Church would be caught up "....in a MOMENT, in a TWINKLING of an eye....". Sounds like "rapare" or "rapture" is a good way of describing something occurring so quickly, wouldn't you say?

Yes-I do believe in the rapture because it's in the word of God, you know, there are things in the Bible that I don't understand, but Gods ways are higher than ours-we don't have the capacity to think like him. So what do we do when we face doubt? Hebrews 11:1 Says-"now faith is being sure of what we hope for and being certain of what we do not see" Just trust in God.

Nope. Its not even in the Bible. Is just an misinterpreted Verse in the Book of Revelations. The Idea is only like 100 years old. If it happened it would mean the greatest Miracle in History, and it would made the Idea of a Charismatic Antichrist (something In the Bible) Impossible. Which in term would stop the Apocalypses. And assuming a Antichrist comes to power, There would be no one to fight against it in the Armageddon.

I am with you on seeing the rapture idea as crazy, among other things.Though, I go a step further and consider the God thing to be right up there with other crazy notions that people have killed for and argue over.

You better believe that Word, it has been coming true so far, do you think God only makes promises, nope, Scripture will be fulfilled, God won't allow this world to live in sin forever, sin will be knocked down into that firery pit, and those that have Christ will rise, and be in The Holy Kingdom with God.
This has to take place, God wants to be with us, but is Holy and can not have no part with sin.

If you believe in God, then you would believe in the rapture....Are you calling God a liar?
God cannot lie....His word is true....
I believe it and I believe it is gonna happen real soon, the prophecies are being fulfilled....just look around.
Read the Bible....then re-examine your doubts.
