Are religious groups so afraid of a movie, they have to report THREE questions about it, in order to get it deleted?
Shall we try for four? I can go forever with this to resolve it, how about you?
I don't understand why people keep reporting my questions about The Golden Compass! Do you?
Is it because it is written by an atheist? Is it because they feel it is an insult to god?
Piers Anthony wrote a book about god being apathetic, and having to be replaced. Was there contovercy there? Why are people so threatened by a book, written by a man who, to his way of thinking, in the story from his imagination, good and evil,(most stories have that) in this case the god in the story is evil, and need to be stopped.
Since it is just a MOVIE, and NOT real, what is the big problem.
I thought this mentality went out with book burning.
What is going on??
I am not trying to offend anyone, I just want to know why this is happening, Don't report for spiteful reasons.

While I appreciate everyone's opinion, I would especially like to hear from Christians in particular. Thanks.

I am a Christian and I question the whole modern popular accepted Revelation scenario. At the very least it should be accepted as allegory. John, on Patmos, was being tortured and could have been mentally ill while writing the book. It is at least a possibility.

Even if you take the Bible literally, how could you possibly turn that cryptic text into a logical narrative that plainly states how the end of the world will occur? Impossible in my book.

Anyone else feel the same way?

What Biblical basis does the Catholic Church have in its belief and teaching that, “Missing Mass on Holydays without a grave reason is a mortal sin”, and thus results in that person being “condemned forever to Hell, a state of perpetual alienation from God”? Where can this be found in Scripture?

Mind you, I quoted responses from Priests responding to questions on the EWTN (Catholic TV Network) Q&A message board. This is not speculation. I've actually read this in a response from a Catholic Priest.

Thank you, and Be Blessed

Think about this. If the bread literally turns into the body of Christ, then you could add a fatal dose of arsenic, consecrate it, and eat it with no ill effects. After all, you can't be poisoned by Jesus, right?

Any Catholics secure enough in their faith to try this?

I was reading the Quran, UNLIKE MOST NON-MUSLIMS might I say, in search for theories of the beginning of the Universe because that is the heart of my questions. I heard that Muhammad had written down in the Quran about this so I obtained it and read it immediately looking for passages that was relevant to creation. And not only did I find a "theory of creation" but I also found that they are a peaceful people who promote peace. Let me give you an example of what I read.

9:36 - ...so wrong not yourselves therein and fight the pagans all together as they fight you all together. But KNOW that Allah is with those who RESTRAIN themselves.

Now at first it looks like it's telling Muslims to fight the pagans and that's what I thought at first until I read that Allah says that fighting is wrong and that Allah is with those who restrain themselves.

You have to read it before you make any silly and outrageous accustations.

I would like SOUND Biblical Teaching that provides support to prove that Mary was free of Original Sin and Actual Sin. I am not concerned with Roman Catholic Tradition. I am concerned with SOUND Biblical Teaching. I want Teaching from primary sources such as the Prophets, Jesus, His 12 Apostles, Paul, etc. I don't want information from secondary sources (Those that came many years later).

How does the Roman Catholic Church reconcile this teaching and belief with Romans 3:23, Hebrews 4:15, and 2 Corinthians 5:21?

How is it that the Catholic Church can teach that Mary was without Original Sin and Actual Sin when the Bible Clearly Teaches that ALL HAVE SINNED. Furthermore, Jesus is the ONLY one ever mentioned in the Word of God to be COMPLETELY WITHOUT SIN?

Be Blessed,
Bryan

There are so many challenges. I think it is kind of hard to pick just one. I think that maybe the greatest challenge for me would be learning how to be content where God has placed me. I'm ashamed to say that just the knowledge that He has put me there doesn't satisfy. I know that it should.

... then doesn't it follow that each and every one of us is "saved" right before we die and is destined to spend eternity with our Lord Jesus? Isn't this logical?

In which case, you might as well stop evangelizing in this life because it can't possibly make any difference. We're saved anyway.

I would like SOUND Biblical Teaching that shows that Mary is the queen of heaven, and that we should honor the queen of heaven. I am not concerned with Roman Catholic Tradition. I am concerned with SOUND Biblical Teaching. I want Teaching from primary sources such as Jesus, His 12 Apostles, Paul, etc. I don't want information from secondary sources (Those that came many years later).

It’s interesting that those who Worshipped the “Queen of Heaven” were dealt with severely by God. Are you saying that there is another “Queen of Heaven” beside the one referenced in Jeremiah 7 and 44?

“The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me (GOD) to anger.” ---Jeremiah 7:18

Please read, and respond to Jeremiah 44, especially verses 15-30. Those that worshipped the queen of heaven were punished by God.

Be Blessed,
Bryan
