Thank you so much for posting this over here, since coming from a non-muslim, people would be likelier to understand...and yes, the core message of islam is peace..
also, i'd just like to point out,no offense, that it wasn't Prophet Muhammad(saws) who wrote down the Qur'an..even if you don't believe it wasn't revealed by God, Prophet himself couldn't read/write, and it is impossible for him to have written the Qur'an..

Good for you for quoting in context does not happen a lot here. And sorry but i have to tell you again Muhammad (pbuh) did not write the Quran it was revealed to him by Allah through the Angel Gabrielle.
However i do applaud you for reading for yourself and not making silly stereotypical assumptions, its quite refreshing. I am a revert myself and when i read chapters in the Quran I felt that my only option was to revert to Islam as Allah had revealed it to me and what was i to do say "thank you Allah for revealing Islam to me and showing me the true path but its just too hard. Give up alcohol and bacon sandwich's, nah....." I had to say "Thank you Allah for revealing Islam to me and I submit to you and I willingly to become your slave"
Now i am not suggesting by any means you do the same just that i know what you are experiencing right now and i feel very happy for you, regardless of what the outcome is. Allah guides those he wants. Peace to you sister and read on, you'll be amazed.

humorous, the 1st 2 paragraphs sound basically like Orthodox Jewish regulations - formulated some 2000 years till now mohommed. As for what the koran says, I in basic terms advise that persons could certainly examine it. there is far too lots whitewashing and historic past rewriting occurring in this computing gadget age. to boot, examine the historic past books with regards to the invasion of Spain and the mediterranean international locations by employing the armies of the Emirs and the Almohades. Makes the crusades appear as if a quiet afternoon with the grandparents. the subject is that maximum religions mature and start to know that their "Books of the regulation" at the instant are not perfect to civilised society. So, in maximum situations, the e book is examine allegorically. interior the case of mohommedanism in spite of the undeniable fact that, the variations have in no way occured and the e book continues to be taken as word for word literal "actuality". the actual actuality is that it relatively is basically as fictional as all the different so-stated as holy books. the subject is that persons nonetheless "have self belief" it for some reason.

Yes, a couple Islamic radicals caused 9/11, but that is no reason to stereotype all who follow the religion. And the media portrays them as violent.
But people don't realize that Muslims in the Middle East were fighting AGAINST Bin Laden/Al Qaeda/extremists.
And the fact that the US is in Iraq, for no point, is not helping.

Are you absolutely sure you are reading the right Quran? There have been many posts here over the last six months that say Islamic teaching has been misrepresented by poorly interpreted texts and people with wicked intent. It all leaves me wondering if anything on the web is trustworthy any more.
I have been trying to find any Muslim who will clear up what I see as a grave contradiction in the Quran, but so far my requests have been totally ignored. In the book of Maryam is the account of how the mother of Jesus (Isa) informed her parents of her pregnancy and they were really distraught with her until she pointed to her swollen belly and her unborn child spoke in her defense. He prophesied his coming death and resurrection. Christians read right over this passage and have a nice warm, fuzzy feeling about it because they already believe in the sacrifice Christ made for all mankind. But Islam teaches that Jesus did not die, that he did not resurrect from the dead, and that there is no salvation from his sacrifice.
Perhaps it is time to stand back and take a look at the overall intent instead of getting all tangled up in the details.

Lol, If you live in the USA and watch the news, that religon is blame for almost everything going wrong here. Building gets blown up, oil prices going up, heck I'm waiting to here the wild fires in California is because of the Muslim religon. But the news also does not reflect what most of us think. You have to remember we all don't blame the Muslim religon but we do blame certain people and there groups. The news lately seems to be less and less news and more and more over reacting.

TV and other media only show the suicide bombers, etc., and don't bother saying that this is not the majority of Muslims, or that the majority are actually peaceful. This leads the stupid people out there to believe misconceptions and stereotypes. Some people are way too dependent on the media.

This confuses me.Everyone keeps pointing out 9/11,keep saying that muslims are blowing themselves up.Does anyone even realize that the muslims that are doing this are at war with the true followers of islam. How many americans actually know that the true muslims aare fighting against those radicals,or are they all just lumped together because we dont want to bother looking into the truth.

Its not silly or outrageous, but its also not isolated to Islam either. ALL RELIGIONS wage needless wars in the name of their god. I've said it before and I will say it again, instead of addressing the people that might be badmouthing your religion, why not address the people that are giving your religion its bad name by committing horrible acts in the name of Allah?
So its not OK to to make "silly or outrageous" comments but its OK to kill those that do not think like you? You're priorities need a little more attention.

For the same reason the majority believe that pagans worship satan, sacrifice children and what not........FEAR and IGNORANCE. It always amazes me that most people that bash another person's beliefs have not even taken the time to study it, see what it is exactly that they believe or even something as simple as asking the person what they believe, instead they simply label them instead of finding it an opportunity to learn.
