believes? Even if you agree with 99% of what they teach (because from your personal study of the Scripture you know that it is bibically sound) has there been that 1% that you question?

I assume that only atheists are answering my question... hello. what i was wondering was, is there any atheists out there who believe that religion is good for the structure of society? i obviously am an atheist, but i have always thought that religion has kept society under control, it gives fear to people and so those in charge have power and control, but it does have its positives on society, i have to say. I just want to hear what other atheists have to say... even if u don't agree... make ur reply humorous.. (i think thatz how itz spelt.. lol) well, kk thnx ppls

how can one apply "once saved always saved" vs "once saved not always saved?" The church I attend believes you can lose your salvation, but I don't believe this as yet because to me you don't keep on sinning once you are saved. Any comments?

Christians and anyone, really- what would you like to see in a Bible study program, should you be inclined to join one?
Examples may include a historical slant, doctrinal, language study, etc.
What do you hope for in a Bible study?

Using this statment or logic, Can we say that Atheists are ignorant about the presence of God and don't understand his powers so they are his enemies?

Or Christians don't understand or can't explain what is happening around them so they are enemies to science, so they relate it to a supernatural power?

Why is it that the going view on islam is that its evil and muslims are violent wicked people.Yes there are muslims doing some pretty mesed up things but its only a few.Do the people of america even realize that the true muslims are fighting a war agaisnt these radical muslims that are commiting all these crimes. If everyone else saw things the way that alot of ameicans do then we'd think that all irish people are terorist, germans are genocidal, white americans are completely ignorant and obssesed with war and that christians think its okay to kill or enslave any that doesnt convert to their beliefs.

I have a friend who recently took her own life by overdose. She was 31 years old. Her life was very miserable. She was in a wheelchair at the age of 3 because she was ran over by a full size van. That was an accident of course. She was on her stomach on a skateboard on a sidewalk. The person who ran her over had no idea she was behind him when he backed out of his driveway.
She had spent her entire life in and out of hospitals. Constantly being poked and prodded. She suffered from bed sores as well. They themselves were so bad they almost killed her.
She had attempted suicide more than once. But someone always found her before she died and she was rushed to the hospital to have her stomach pumped.
Given her circumstances, is she damned to hell for eternity? I know murder and suicide are the worst things one could do. But is she an exception?

seems there are lots of important bits of the story missing in the bible. I mean, it would be perfectly normal (in fact preferable) for Jesus to have had a lover - he may have been the son of God but he was living in a humble human body. Why shouldn't he have been in love with Mary Magdalene? Is it really a cover up?

I recently had an argument about religious belief with a friend, and he said that he believed in God because it made him feel better. When I questioned his reasoning process, he said that it didn't matter if it was true as long as it made him feel better about the world. Obviously this sounded ridiculous, but I couldn't verbalize why. Why is the truth so important to us?
