There is no "Self Truth."
There is "Truth"
To say there is self truth means that truth is mutable that you can change it to what ever benefits you at the moment.
To be a steadfast disciple of "Truth." you will know the boundries of right and wrong. It will often confront you, and will not win you friends amoung those you walk with.

Becoming closer to God through self knowledge and acceptance? I guess the fact that your learning restraint, full thought, and endurance/dedication help you to get a better appreciation for life and what you have. Also helps you to learn what you can do and how far you will go for your god?
