According to Genesis 2:20, Eve was created because Adam couldn't find a mate among the animals. Nice Huh? Think of how the Bible would have been written if he was attracted to the sheep.

("So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds of the air and all the beasts of the field. But for Adam no suitable helper was found")

Eve was created because God's suggestion that Adam have an animal for a partner didn't go over so very well.

18 And the LORD God said: 'It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a help meet for him.'

19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto the man to see what he would call them; and whatsoever the man would call every living creature, that was to be the name thereof.

20 And the man gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found a help meet for him.

21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the place with flesh instead thereof.

22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from the man, made He a woman, and brought her unto the man.

23 And the man said: 'This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.'

The Bible gives this as the reason Eve was created: "So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds of the air and all the beasts of the field. But for Adam no suitable helper was found." (Genesis 2:20)

God created Eve because as is written in Genesis " It was not good for man to be alone" This is not a quantitative answer it is an ethical one. For man to be alone goes against the nature of God. Think about the tri-unoin nature of God the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. It is the same through out the social plan God has planed for us. Father, Wife, Children. Christ, Body (church leaders), Flock. Even in science itself this appears. Three basic natures of elements, there are three primary colors. None of this happens by accident it is the God's designed for us.

Eve was created because Adam noticed all the other creatures had mates. That made Adam lonely and asked God for a mate for him self.

from my understanding any way :)

No, sorry, not quite right. Adam was incomplete without another human being. As nice as animals are, humans are meant to be relationship with other humans. Eve represents the feminine, the other half of humanity, the need for a spouse, but also our need to relate to others to be fully human.

"And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. "

God knew man required woman, BEFORE the man became lonely and sad.

Also note that the woman was not made from Adam's foot. She was not to be walked on by man. The woman was not made from Adam's back. She was not supposed to walk behind the man.

The woman was made from Adam's side. That meant she was to walk beside the man.... and this is from God, from the beginning.

Eve was created as a companion for Adam. God created people with a desire to be around others, not to be alone.

God looked down on His perfect creation and saw all the pizza boxes, beer bottles and dirty fig leafs laying on the ground and said, "We gotta get someone in here to get Adam to clean up this mess" and it's been that way ever since.

If Adam was lonely and sad, I guess it wasn't much of a paradise then was it?
