Or (if you are being completely honest with yourself), is it largely because of the pure dumb luck of when/where & to who you were born?

global warming does exist and it can be proven so we cant really believe it, we know it. but do any atheists or christians acknowledge the existence of it?

Im asking cause us atheists and agnostics dont believe in god or are unsure if we do. So I was wondering if we acknowledge the existence of global warming.

I have been able to discern when God is speaking to me for quite some time. This has been of great help to me in every aspect of my life. I wonder why other people who ask God to speak to them have a difficult time figuring out what God is saying. They often say that they are left with a few choices and are afraid to make the "wrong" one. I tell them that God isn't in the business of tricking people and that the choice that resonates most deeply within is quite possibly the choice that God would know would be best for the person. I also tell them that God can also give us several possible choices to choose from. There may be no "right or wrong" answer. I have only met a few people who absolutely knew when God was directing them. Why is this?

Do Christians truly believe that Buddhists will go to hell bc they don't accept God? I am Catholic and accept many Buddhist thoughts and attend Temple. Buddhists, esp. monks are such peace loving austere ppl. There is nothing that can justify an all loving God to condemn Buddhists.

Do we know where he was and what he was doing?

Some say he might have been studying Bhuddism...

But no one really seems to know.

What do you think Jesus was doing during that time?

From my earliest question I found out you guys are the only ones besides the Mormons that don't believe in the Trinity. But the Mormons have their own Bible...so I never considered them to be 1st century Christians. Anyway the only problem is the year 607 BC. The year Babilon conquered the Jews. This year is the foundation of the year 1914, but I have searched online and most places state that Babilon conquered the Jews in 586 B.C. which dismisses the year 1914 out.

Does one just have to have faith that 607 B.C. is correct... or is there any archeology evidence to the year 607 B.C. as the correct date? How did Jehovah's Witnesses come out with that year?

Any links will be helpful.

obviously I cant convince anybody here of how I feel. so should I argue about something else? should I go to the global warming section and try to prove that it DOES exist? or should I stay here and argue about something that is really not that important to begin with?

look in the news, everywhere. Muslims are taking over. And doesn't it only seem logical considering they are descendants of Ishmael, Jacob's (father of the Jews) half-brother and rival. 2 Muslims bored one of our school-buses and nobody stopped them, they wanted to see how easy it was to get into our schools, and found out it was pretty darn easy. We are electing them into our governmental offices, before you know it, we'll be swearing on the Koran instead of the Bible. In some northern cities, they blow the horn for the Muslims call to prayer. they are installing places to wash feet for Muslims prayer time in Colleges and Universities. It's only a matter of time. I think that the one-world religion is going to be Islam, and I only hope I'm dead and gone before it happens (which is gonna be a while considering I'm only 16). i'd like your thoughts....

How do you know that the DEVIL hasnt somehow infiltraited your religion and altered the bible? I mean it does say in there narrow is the path and few that will make it or something... when you think that christianity is one of the largest religions on earth and then factor in the brutal past it has... "By their works ye shal know them..." so...
I'm just sayin' if I was the devil the first thing I would do was mess with the word of god...

I'm an atheist but... still curious...

I had some interesting responses to my last question regarding the genocide of Jericho:

"genocide in the bible is merely pagans being done with"

Does this mean that the wives and children of all pagans should be murdered and their money given to the church? Or is this just a "metaphor"?

"...Sundays school and basic bible teachings must have been missed a lot this last millenium
put down the ipod and pc, and videos and read your history books, and bible, full of history..and you might get a b on your next question, f for this one...no merit and no substancial evidence."

Now your getting it!!! Yes, I agree that the book I am referring to has absolutely no merit and couldn't possibly be considered substantial evidence. Funny that a Christian pointed this out while not answering the question given regarding the mass genocide described in the book of Joshua, chapter 6.

"...did they stop teaching sunday school in the last decade or what"

Yes, Thank GOD

What do you think

...and what if that belief in Santa was destructive because other people disputed it, but believed in the Tooth Fairy instead, which lead to war? And to make matters worse, other people believed in neither Santa or the Fairy, but believed in the Boogy Man instead, which lead to more violence? What would you do to help these people that were really good at heart, but misled?
