Or did he just pose off of these ancient Gods/Goddess

Horus-Egypt 3000 BC-Born Dec 25th of a virgin mother Isis mary, his birth was accompanied by a star in the east which in turn 3 kings traveled to adore him.at the age of 12 he was a teacher at 30 he was baptized and started his ministry at 30.Horus had 12 deciples that he walked around with and preformed miracles..etc

ATTIS-Greece 1200 BC-:born of a virgin on dec 25th,crucified,dead for three days then resurrected.

KRISHNA-India 900 BC- Born of a virgin, with a star in the east signaling his coming,he preformed miracles with his deciples, and upon his death was resurected.

DIONYSUS-Greece-500 BC..Born of a virgin Dec 25th was a traveling teacher that preformed miracles such as turning water into wine.he was refered to as the king of kings the alpha omega and upon his death he was resurected

I could go on and on to include other such as MITHRA...So whats with the pattern was Jesus made up to correct Gods brutal ways in the OT

ok, yeah, i understand that they might represent ideals different from yours, but really? not one of those books promotes or encourages anything directly against Christianity. or, i suppose, that's my opinion anyway, and i guess you'res might be different, which is the point of this question anyway. none of those books claim to have even the smallest foundation of fact; they are believe it or not, all categorized as "fiction". as in, not true, as recognized byt he author, publisher, and general public. why are these different from any other fiction books? i'm mostly looking for the viewpoints of other Christians but i also welcome the viewpoints of others. please, no senseless bashing of either Christians or of the books if you have somehtign to say make it reasonable and support it

The other night my baby was sick. She would not sleep in her bed so I sat up in my bed holding her most of the night so she could sleep. I closed my eyes for what felt like a few seconds. Someone's face came to me over my left shoulder and softly said "you are a good mommy for staying up and holding your baby while she is sick". Then I opened my eyes and I did not feel like I had been asleep. I could not see the face clearly, but I felt so calm and was not afraid, like I knew who it was. Am I going crazy or has this happened to anyone else. It didn't feel like a dream....it felt so real.

I am not religous and do not attend a church or worship a god. But i do believe that there is something bigger out there. And every night i pray for the safety of my children and that is it. What does this make me? Im confused and don't know what to tell people when they ask me my religion or if i believe in god.

There is so much anti-Catholicism in this section (coming from evangelicals, protestants, atheists, and pagans). Why is the Church hated so much? I hear all of these stupid, baseless rumors about Catholicism. Have people actually researched what is about? Some of the hate also comes from former Catholics which baffles me. Is acceptable to make fun of Catholics like it was acceptable to make fun of Jews 40 years ago.

I was raised Catholic but I no longer consider myself one. However, I still have a soft spot for the Church and I want to know what motivates people to hate what they don't know that well. Ignorance? Bigotry? Bad experiences?

I just asked this question but people are giving me a bunch of crap and excuses and all I want is a yes or no answer. I do not care for an excuse for the meanings of these scriptures!!! YES OR NO ANSWER IT IS NOT THAT HARD TO TYPE FRICKING 2 - 3 GOSH DARN WORDS!

Ok so you know the famous saying "Honor thy Mother and thy Father" and "Love thy neighbor"? Well doesn't this part from the bible contradict that?

Luke 14:26-33

"If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters—yes, even his own life—he cannot be my disciple.

It irritates me that people can be ignorant & arrogant!
Especially some Atheist who waste their times asking silly questions about Religion or God. Why bother? You waste your time on a God you don't even believe Exist. Then some of you answer rudely to answers about Religion & God or immaturely answer to questions pertaining to Religion & God.
What irritates me more are those of Religion, specifically of Christianity always going on about how those who aren't in their Religion will go to Hell. Wth is that! You mustn't judge or think yourself better then others, nor should you say that these people will go to hell for if you do listen to Gods words then you would know that is not what God would like you to say.
I could go on, & rant some more, maybe I will after I read some of your posts... .-.

Pullman Quotes:
“I say: ‘There is a God, and here he is dying’ – and this is what I was particularly pleased with, as a result of an act of charity. And he goes ‘with a sigh of the most profound and exhausted relief.’”

When his books were released in Australia in 2003, Pullman told The Sydney Morning Herald that his “books are about killing God.”

So I watched the trailer and read some of the books excerpts. It is very "Chronicles Of Narnia" in it's big screen appeal. Excellent animation and story lines. The only problem is that this IS definitely a story about good versus evil and evil will when in the end. The author writes that the characters have "souls" called daemons(demons) but then denies that the books and movies are anti-Christian. Would like to hear your thoughts Christians and Atheists alike. I am a Christian and will not go to see the movie simply because I cannot, in good consicence, spend my money to support something totally against what I believe.

Mark 14:51-52..And there followed him a certain young man, having a linen cloth cast about his naked body; and the young men laid hold on him.

Vs. 52- And he left the linen cloth, and fled from them naked.

I believe everything written in God's word is there for a purpose, but does anyone have a clue who this might be?
I am sure I will know when I get to heaven.
