I just asked this question but people are giving me a bunch of crap and excuses and all I want is a yes or no answer. I do not care for an excuse for the meanings of these scriptures!!! YES OR NO ANSWER IT IS NOT THAT HARD TO TYPE FRICKING 2 - 3 GOSH DARN WORDS!
Ok so you know the famous saying "Honor thy Mother and thy Father" and "Love thy neighbor"? Well doesn't this part from the bible contradict that?
Luke 14:26-33
"If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters—yes, even his own life—he cannot be my disciple.

you ought to comprehend that there is a fallibility in translations of the bible. Firstborn at that quantity of time might desire to consult with the two the only son or the 1st of various. Our modern-day theory is they 2 are unique, yet on the time of the writing of the Gospels this became no longer so. As for the "till she bore a son" and "while she gave delivery to a son" lower back the translations come into play. all and sundry who speaks 2 languages can inform you there are hardly one hundred% equivalents. the two those translations are becoming to be on an analogous element however: till now the delivery of Jesus, Joseph had no longer had intercourse with Mary. There are different verses coupled with this that time out that Mary never had family members with Joseph. Joseph did produce different babies. They have been from a prior marriage, no longer with Mary.

No; it is called context. The Bible set up a system of authority. The Bible commands Christians to go to church. Let's say that the government makes a law that people cannot go to church. What is the correct thing to do? The Bible says to go to church and it also says to obey the law; so wich is correct? The problem is that the government stepped outside their boundaries and made a law against the law of God. The government is at fault and the correct choice would be to go to church. According to the context of that verse you are quoting the exact same is being talked about except with parents and children. If I was a boy living at home and my mom told me not to go to church and I do, am I in the wrong? Absolutely not! My mom who is supposed to be a spiritual leader in my life has stepped outside the boundaries that God has given her. And because I go against her will and go to church it will appear that I love God more than I love her. Therefore in her mind I am "hating" her.

No, it doesn't contradict itself, it only seems to when you take passages out of the whole context of God's word and assign to them a meaning of your own. Instead you have to understand what Jesus was teaching by letting the Bible interpret itself for you so that you can truly understand what IS being taught and what is NOT being taught.
Matthew 10:37 Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 38 And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
Jesus isn't going to preach one sermon where He says to love even your enemy...
Matthew 5:43 "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor, and you shall hate your enemy.'
44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, 45 so that you may prove to be sons of your Father in heaven; because He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and He sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
...and then preach another sermon where He tells people that they must "hate" their parents in the sense that we in the 21st century would understand it. Jesus was saying the a person's love for Him must be such that He was so important in their life that in contrast whatever affection they had for others it must pale to where it was as if they hated them.

I think people could be a little more civilized if you calm down a bit. They're just trying to give you good answers- that's why people post so much information. They just want to answer it as thoroughly as possible.
