The other possibility is believe in God and when you die you would never have known the truth.

Which God are you referring to?

I think atheists have a safer bet. If you haven't noticed, Gods tend to be very jealous. They punish people who worship false idols. So it's better to not believe in Gods at all in order to abate all the potential wrath. That is, if God(s) exist.

I don't quite get what you're saying, so I'll simply say this. I would rather die believing in God. If I was wrong, oh well, at least I had a happy life. If I was right, woot!

Now for an atheist, if they were right, oh well, you're dead and rotting alone. If they were wrong... too late.

I'm an Atheist and I don't think about what will happen when I die at all.

All I can do is live my life the way it feels right and honest to me.

If I'm wrong.....oh well.

when i was young i tried hard to believe in the christian god, but i just couldnt. Now, if i were to say i believe, just for the sake of saying it, "just in case there is" I would be lying to myself... so yea, i guess i will just take my chances..i have a funny feeling i will be ok...

There is no evidence, therefore there are no gods.

I am being perfectly honest here when I say that I don't think it really matters one way or the other.
