The Bible speaks of "foolish jesting". Here on Yahoo, it is much too prevalent, and if you say anything against it, you are branded a stick in the mud or worse.

Problem with levity is that in almost 90% of the cases, it is a distraction from what is the most important. Whatever is used to keep people from listening to or believing the truth is considered sin in the eyes of God.

You mean lightheartedness? I don't see why it would be. It's that state of mind that keeps us from going over the edge because of all of our problems. We need levity in order to stay sane. So no, not at all.

levity meaning...
1. lightness of mind, character, or behavior; lack of appropriate seriousness or earnestness.
2. an instance or exhibition of this.
3. fickleness.
4. lightness in weight.

If you take things so lightly to the point that you don't care about your sin and aren't trying to follow Jesus then yes it would be a sin.

Yes, any word that has to be looked up in the dictionary is a sin.

I hope not - I'd rather be laughing than be serious.

Unless this is a anti-gravity question then you put it in the wrong section - Physics or science. Or magic section (to levitate) - how cool would that be, float around all day.

Peace.

I think Jesus had a great sense of humor, and people just didn't get his jokes. Something is getting lost in translation, the punch line!

I get a lot of humor, from stories like; when pigs fly, people shouldn't through stones if they're horny, they're digging their own grave don't interrupt, and my favorite;

Telling a stuttering prophet, "I ams what I ams..."

Of course it is.
Jesus never once told a joke and neither did 'god' ... except for the platypus ... oh, and Benny Hinn's comb-over styled wig - that's pretty funny, huh?

When I die, I am going to Disneyland. You wanna go? Jesus has to stay home though. My car only seats two people.
