The pig is also unclean; although it has a split hoof, it does not chew the cud. You are not to eat their meat or touch their carcasses.”

Ok, just read the rest of your comments. Obviously, you quit reading the Bible before you got to the New Testament.
Christians do not keep the dietary laws given to the Israelites in the Old Testament--they were never given to the Gentiles. (Christian Jews may keep them I suppose.) There are many passages in the New Testament where the apostles explained why the Jewish customs (primarily circumcision but it also applies here) were not required for Gentiles for salvation, because we are under GRACE, not under the LAW.
Furthermore, there are at least 2 key passages that specifically permit it:
Acts 10:9 & following where the apostle Peter has a vision about animals coming down on a sheet and Jesus telling him to eat them, but Peter didn't want to because they were "unclean", and Jesus told him not to call anything clean that He had created. This vision was symbolic of offering salvation to the Gentiles as well as the Jews, but it is also literal.
There is another passage in I Timothy 4 that speaks directly to this: "1Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
3Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
4For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:"
I especially like to show this one to Christian vegetarians.
God bless you--now go eat some bacon with a clear conscience!

While I can't speak to the customs of Islam, I can talk about Christianity. To a Christian a pig is not considered to be unclean any more. The laws that set clean and unclean animals apart was the Law of Moses. This was to keep the Israelites separate from their neighbors. The old law is done away with look at Hebrews 10:1-9. In particular the first and last verses are pretty clear about how the law is just a shadow of Christianity. The dietary laws were a part of those things that we as Christians are not under, look at Acts 10:9-15.

obviously eating pork has not killed anyone but in those times of the old testament for cleanliness and to avoid worms they prohibited pork products the new test corrected that . Actually any meat uncooked can cause trouble and the pickled fish that some Jewish women still prepare has been documented to cause tape worms .. if you are Jewish or Muslim you are prohibited from eating the pig but the modern medical opinion will recommend avoid all meat fish and chicken for heart and arterial health . sometimes religious customs are close to well reasoned but due to their dogmatic nature don't really keep up with modern science that well.

Because it has to do with how strict your faith and culture is.
While I don't intend to offend any one of the muslim faith, from what i've seen it is a much more stict and somewhat intolerant relgion. Laws are laws, they must be followed or there will be punishment yet for christianity, things have changed culturally and morally. What was once taboo centuries ago no longer applies. I also think it has to do with how relgion nowadays isn't taken as seriously by the majority of christians whereas Muslims have a very strong faith and belief.
It's gotten to the point where diehard christians are more concerned with protesting against abortion or homosexuality than whether or not people eat pork.

Salam
MashAllah, and AstugfarAllah Azeem, may Allah forgive they are using the Pig now to enter into the human stream Al Jinn use the pig as a transitory gateway into the human elements.
Muslims need to be taught this and its direct order in Al Quran not to eat pork, unless its the only form of food and you are not to eat more than what will sustain life for that situation.
Muslims are not believers, only Mummins are that is a big differance everyone must be made clear of.

Pork isnt a clean animal to eat and some parts of it may cause diseases that's why it's forbidden in Islam and I guess it's forbidden as well in christianity....
Maybe because it's a well known fact in Islam that eating pork is not allowed while not so many christians know that christianity also forbids Pork.... because i know that some chritians dont eat pork

Jesus never ate pork because he was Jewish. I follow the example of the Jews in this example as to not eat pork as I am Christian. Yes it is listed in the bible not to do so, but did you know it is also listed that you cant eat bugs with 8 legs but you can eat bugs with 4 legs? Who knew. As for any other christian that does, thats their personal choice.

I don't eat pork and am Christian....because it's extremely bad for you .
You must be getting this from the old testament in th bible .
Being Christian has nothing to do with pork.
How would you know anything about a true christian ..you are muslim????????????
You are reffering to the old testament in our bible...the old testament is the old covenant that God made with His people and the new testament is the new covenant God made with His people............in the new testament there is no where about the eating of unclean meat.
If we went by the rule you are giving us then we would be giving animals to sacrafice and doing alot of things you would really be uncomfortable with....we would be living in old testament times .
Yes,when Jesus came that is when the new covenant came about.
Try reading the bible...the new testament prove to yourself ..What a true Christian is all about...

WTF?
No clue what the hell you are talking about. In school they have to respect all religions. I grew up in a religion that didnt eat pork. I was not jewish, but we follwed the old hebrew laws. There were jewish and muslims in my elementary school as well.
If they had pork they made us a seperate meal. But normally they just never served pork. I dont get your question at all. Its up to the person. Maybe they just dont like pork.
