Wish I could be happier about this question.
Babies should maybe be excluded from subject material - due to all the nightmares and real worries that surround babies.
Don't misunderstand I like the dead baby jokes, etc. But babies and birth defects/disabilities are too nightmarish to joke about in a serious R&S type of way - for me. I was so thankful and amazed my son was perfect after all the lectures, and scary stories from news, magazines. So I have not had nightmares.
Also - GOD probably protected so many babies from the mother/parent that drank and drugged out during the pregnancy - humans will never know this either. Also car/truck (planes too)accident survivors...
Peace.

Things like birth defects and genetic disorders are beyond God's control.

I know some people will try to tell you that God controls every last iota of events in the universe, but it just isn't so.

God is the power of love. Love cannot prevent birth defects; it can only encourage people to accept and welcome the child into their hearts. Love cannot prevent disabilities; it can only give the disabled person the strength to adapt to the loss.

God is not some old, bearded guy playing with the people of Earth as if they were pieces on a chessboard. God is a far, far simpler and more beautiful thing than that.

When stumbling upon questions like these, one must remember that God is supposed to be everything. So, I am sure that God's decision is more of a spontaneous thing. Such as "Gee, today, I feel like having a difficult life for a life time or a million. I have had so many mediocre and bland lives these days, and great lives are so numerous." You see, the idea is that since God is everything, God is everyone. So under this belief system, you are not really who you think you are; because you are God pretending to be you. In other words, your name, address, occupation, feelings of self, deep thoughts, all of your memories, and your body itself is superficial, and the thing that really exists, is none other than God. When I ask your name, you say "." Yet, who is it that is ? Furthermore, under this belief system, no one suffers but God, because there is nothing and no one else.

He looks at their parents genes and makes a logical conclusion that a deformation needs to take place because the rules of living on earth mean having to be restricted by your gene pool.

am just answering your question, am not a fundamentalist either

but u shudnt use someones disability to make fun of another persons belief

Maybe it's like with Job, he got the Devil to do something to the babies, therefore, just to prove a point, he purposefully mutilated and disabled some babies and gave them to parents, when otherwise they'd be without those disabilities. If you ask me, that's pretty harsh.

God allows the laws of nature to occur. Also, he gave man the wisdom to make medicine, such as folic acid. If people would heed such advice along w/ other such advice these things happen as often. People forget the most important thing. He loves all no matter what, he created us.

I don't know if he decides which ones will or if the sins of mankind have brought that on us (my sins included-just so you don't think that I think I'm perfect) ...but he does decide who gets those babies..and for the most part..i think its special people who have the ability to deal with it and give that child a loving home here on earth.
