Where is it that the Apostle Paul purportedly says Jesus is NOT God? Paul knew whom he had seen on the road to Damascus - the living God, God in the flesh, the Christ, Jesus.

Yes yes many times he says he is the son of God, the son of man, but he IS God. He says before Abraham was I AM - the only I am was GOD. Jesus came to earth in a fleshly body but was the representation and full embodiment of GOD. The trinity is not some made up delusion - it is a clear conclusion from NT scripture.

Assuming the very first time a person could be exposed to the concept that an invisible, all knowing, all powerful super being made the universe and everything in it wasn't until they were essentially a reasoning adult with their own ideas and opinions, do you think people would be as willing to just buy into faith based thinking?

Assuming they were only taught whatever available science we now have, do you really think the average intelligent adult would suddenly abandon it all, and embrace supernatural explanations?

Remember when you really chose to become an atheist? Where you born in a religious family or non-religious? Mainly just what made you really believe there was no God?

I'm an atheist. When I was a kid I always remember thinking the existents of God was an odd idea but I still believed. I went to church with my best friend for 3 years. I realized in that time how corrupt the Christian people and the religion is. I lived in a awful household... I've been through so much. That really turned me against God... if there was a God why was I going through so much? Once I stopped believing things cleared for me everything with evolution made sense. So please tell me your story.

When there are far far far more references to Jesus being the son of God, rather than actually God himself, in the Bible?

Where does anyone get off saying that you arent christian just because you dont believe in their interpretation of the Bible?

Since the Bible makes it quite clear that Jesus is the SON of God, can I call you a non Christian if you believe Jesus is God?

i've never seen god (our mutual supposed father). he has never once (NOT ONCE) shown up for my birthday or even sent a card. he is more delinquent than any dad i've ever heard about. no alimony. nothing.

i'm supposed to love this guy? just because he gave me life? any drunk guy can knock up a girl he took home at the bar and create life. doesn't mean i should love him...much less dedicate my life to finding him. if he wanted to be found, he'd make himself findable.

why are we so eager to defend this deadbeat?

The devil’s most important lie is that when a believer is born again, baptized, and receives the Holy Spirit that he can NOT have a devil. THAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT LIE OF THE DEVIL. The TRUTH is, that such believers are the high priority targets for the devils. Satan already has the unbelievers. Only Believers represent a threat to the devils. And the POWER and AUTHORITY which the Lord Jesus Christ gives to every believer is DENIED when people receive that lie, that they do not have and/or can not have a devil. Instantly, you have a form of godliness which DENIES the POWER thereof.

2 Tim 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Brethren, it is time we realize that there are only two kinds of people in the world, Believers and Unbelievers. Believers cast out devils, and are constantly on guard to get them cast out of themselves and others, and keep them out. Unbelievers DO NOT.

My fiancé and I had a baby a couple months ago. I was raised Catholic. I don't go to church on a very regular basis anymore, but I did go every Sunday and every religious holiday until college. My fiancé is Lutheran. They never really went to church, they just believed. I want my son baptized Catholic. But his father wants us to do non-denomination. How do I reason with him or should I reason with him on this?

I am asking this question for the Atheists who linger on the R&S section of Y!A. I am constantly being bombarded with questions of, "Why can't you provide proof of your God?" or other comments such as, "Gods are fake." So, I have a question for you. Since I am an open-minded Christian who believes in Evolution and other non-Catholic ideas, why do you constantly assault MY beliefs when I have never attacked yours? I feel as if my faith in a God is being used against me because somebody wants me to believe what THEY think. And isn't that Atheists main complaint... Christians won't listen to you and think you're wrong? That seems like what you're doing to me, a person who simply listens to other's opinions and does not pass judgement. Atheists do the same when they listen to opinions, but many pass judgement and harsh words on MY beliefs, which, in my opinion, have never harmed you, at least, coming from me. So please, explain why many Atheists feel alright with assaulting my faith.

Are the people that seek God happy in this life or do they wish they had a better life, better spouse, more money, more good looks, love of their dreams?

Are the people that seek God unhappy and uncontent with their present looks, of jobs or spouses or are single and can't seem to get a lover and that is why they seek God, when actually if they had what they dreamed they wouldn't seek God at all?

According to Christians, we are god's children, and he is our father. He loves us, & wants the best for us, so he created rules for us to follow. He gave us freedom to obey or disobey these rules, knowing that each of us will disobey sometimes because we are not perfect. He also gave us a means of redeeming ourselves, no matter how bad we are. There is never an "ultimate consequence", so long as you are willing to ask god to forgive you.

In a sense, instead of learning right from wrong, people simply learn how to say, "I'm sorry."

God once spoke directly to people. He no longer does this. Nor does he send prophets to speak for him. He just left us with a book, and told us that we have to teach each other, and we must interpret his "rewards and punishments" each in our own way.

Would you teach your children this way? Wouldn't you expect them to grow up confused & wildly irresponsible, knowing they could always get away with anything as long as they said, "I'm sorry."?

I wouldn't.

Where did God say that punishment for sin is hell? I have been reading through the scriptures; but if I can recall, God's punishment to us for sin was death.

Genesis 2:15. The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. 16. And the LORD God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17. but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die."

Genesis 3:2. The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3. but God did say, 'You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.' "

Genesis 3:
19. By the sweat of your brow
you will eat your food
until you return to the ground,
since from it you were taken;
for dust you are
and to dust you will return."
