Where did God say that punishment for sin is hell? I have been reading through the scriptures; but if I can recall, God's punishment to us for sin was death.

Genesis 2:15. The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. 16. And the LORD God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17. but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die."

Genesis 3:2. The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3. but God did say, 'You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.' "

Genesis 3:
19. By the sweat of your brow
you will eat your food
until you return to the ground,
since from it you were taken;
for dust you are
and to dust you will return."

The one thing I wish that people would take into account is that the Bible was written by men; people consider it to be God's personal diary, but it is written and interpreted by men, just as human as you and I. Whatever the inspiration of written word, be it the Bible, the Quran, etc., it is the personal experience of faith--that which speaks to the very soul--which is of most import in spirituality.

I'm still awaiting that moment of realization, myself.

Try looking to the New Testament: Luke 12.5; Luke 16.19-31; 2 Peter 2.4; and the Beatitudes in Matthew 5 list numerous examples.

Hell became designed as an exile for fallen angels who knew God in all his goodness and glory and yet who rebelled against it. of direction, God would on no account exile himself to hell. he's all-solid and not deserving of hell. as nicely, if he exiled himself to hell, he would abolish heaven because of the fact devoid of God, heaven does no longer be heaven. The spritual interpretation of course is far from the literal one most lean towards.

Sin is the ideas that separate God from man.

Hell does not exist nor is there a place for it in the true nature of reality.

Death implies hell.

God is speaking of a spiritual death which comes about as a result of sin (unless one repents).
