Mythbusters did an episode about escaping from sinking cars, but I don't think they tackled this specific subject.

I'd have to go with the diver with equipment, personally.

The bible gives people spiritual guidance, its not a physical rescuer... but Jesus is so I'd love to see Jesus in the divers suit saving my physical and spiritual body.
