I had a friend I was close with for a long time. We have been growing apart because he has changed a lot (in a negative way). When he was losing all of his friends, I stayed by his side.

But I got sick of the way he was acting as well, and I stopped being his friend. He apoligized, and I became his friend again. But then he started acting like a jerk towards me again, so I stop hanging out with him. This happened about 8 times.

I don't do this with ANY of my other friends!

I noticed that he didn't mean his apologies, and just said them to look like the good person in the situation. So I just told him that we could try to get along, but I didn't want to be friends with him again. We could just be like associates.

Was I right to do this? I think I gave him enough chances. And I know him well enough to realize that he didn't mean it when he said sorry. I don't feel guilty or anything, so I don't think I was wrong.

Some of the things he use to do to me were:

He use to talk bad about me behind my back, he would try to embarrass me in front of other people to act 'tough' or 'bad'.

He would make fun of me, the way I dressed, how much money my parents made(because he is from a family that is well-off), who I hung out with, and how I looked.

And he treated his girlfriend (who is my best friend) really bad. He did all of these things to her, and it made her really sad, but she let him do it.

And what REALLY made me SOOOO angry with him was what he said the other day. On Halloween, my friend passed away in an accident. Nov. 1st was my friend's (not the one that died) birthday, and he said,"Thanks to him dying, nobody will remember that it is my birthday!!"

What do you think?

This was upsetting to read. Basically creationism is now getting a foothold in the UK now in part thanks to muslim immigrants.

Any ideas about what can be done about it? I have a few but they'd get the question deleted.

Do pigs have souls? Is Allah a god for pigs as well? Do pigs have other rights? Are there pig farms in the middle east? Does anyone there grow pigs? Are there any pigs there at all? What do they do with pigs? Curious.

Ok, here's the situation:

Jesus is going to come to you and speak one single word to you, as a message about what He wants from you; what He expects from you and all Christians.

Only one single word.

What do you think it would be?

I have noticed that former Mormons are often told that they have left the Church for the "wrong reasons". A quick summation of those reasons might be:

*the actions of one individual
*wanting to be "free" to break the rules
*thinking that it's "too hard" and getting tired of it

My question is:

What are the "right reasons" for leaving a church?
(this could apply to the LDS Church or another church)

everytime I see someone say this ... it just confuses me more
Catholicism can be traced back to at least Constantine , and is thought to be even traceable to the disciples
this was the first church and seemed to be the only Christian church for some 1700 years

so when a born agian Christian claims that Catholics are not Christian ... does their religion only begin from the time of the seperation ?
doesnt that make it a very young religion ?
and if not ... then do you just blank the history of Christianity all together from your minds ?
that is a lot to blank out

I've been asked to stand for my baby cousin, to become her godfather. Our extended family is typically Roman Catholic although not everyone practises it. What I want to know is, is it morally wrong for me to accept to look after my cousin and her faith, and pledge allegience to a God I'm not sure I believe in, even if I will do my upmost to look after her as long as I am breathing?

How do you envision your neighborhood? your Governemnt? your family? your city and state?

Do you see the USA as a bunch of Democrats, Sodomites, Rampid fornicators and drunkards taxing the rich left and right to give to the
illegal aliens, Lazy Sams and Susan's to buy gucci purses, ganja and sunglasses?

or do you see yourself begging Clarence to come back and present your case to GOD Almighty?

It doesn't seem so. You people who call yourselves good Christians judge tremendously!!! Do you even read about other religions? I'm an Atheist, and yes I have read your Bible, the Torah, and many other religous books and I turn them away for the theory you don't even read about! I'm sorry I just judged myself, but I have to fume somehow, don't I? Yes, I have feelings, how about that?!

that i am a Christian.
my parents are catholic.
i attend a Christian Bible Class,
because Christians have the same books.
i am a young teenager.
I used to be catholic
but now i am christian,
i know they will be mad because i remember my mom asking me in a loud voice "are they trying to convert you?"
i guess that means that she doesnt want me to be christian.
HELP !
i want to tell them badly.

and dont say that catholics are Christians.
Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven !
there are many differences between Christians and catholics
catholics:
say the rosary
call a priest "father"
pray to statues & Mary
believe to get to heaven by good works

arent these sins ?

I'm not looking to convert, sorry. I'm just curious about it. I saw some other questions and answers but I was overwhelmed by the amount of information so I thought I'd just ask for myself. I like to be informed about religions even if I don't myself follow them. I find there is something useful to be learned from many of them. I truly know nothing about scientology, so I thought I'd ask. Also I wonder if its values tend to favor any stances towards issues in todays society. I am ignorant, I don't pretend not to be, but merely curious, I have nothing against scientology or scientologists.

Don't you know that monkeys come from God and Darwin believes now? Why would you rely on logic when faith suffices? How is it you think you're so smart when you think that uncertainty dominates the universe at the quantum level? Don't you know that Jesus is the ultimate hard drive? HE SAVES!

How would you tell the people that are poor, starving and dying of disease in Africa to enjoy thier life?

How would you tell the people that are dying all over the worl through warfare, sickness poverty to enjoy thier life?
Are you saying Life is *Luck of the Draw* some are born to be lucky and some just were given a bad hand???

In the Animal Kingdom some were lucky to be born King of the Jungle and some were just unlucky to be born Bambi and be devoured?

Is life just one stoke of luck bad or good to you?

The below R&S post states just this...yet, when I search the internet...the only one I find that took an oath on the Quran was Keith Ellison. Is this true or an urban legend as it relates to Barack Obama? Can anyone point me in the direction to this answer.

Also, look at the picture attached on the post...is this for real? Does Obama really not salute the American Flag...again, is this true or urban legend?

Any links to proof would be appreciated.

I am a fiscal conservative and social liberal...However, I could not support someone who would not salute the flag of the country that he wants to govern. In addition, if he doesn't want his hand on the Bible fine...but, he should not put his hand on anything....

The bible can't be interpreted according to many, it must be taken literally. So why wouldn't I be a cannibal? After all, according to the bible, he's just a man.
