I was recently tested morally: and passed, but it got me thinking .. how do we know we are truely moral people without tests like the one I went through?

PS please no scripture quotes ... that won't help me on this one! :)

Thanks !

I think we're tested all the time, it's usually not some big event where you can say you did or did not make the right choice. Usually you can make a moral choice without really thinking. I think for all of us there's some tests we could pass and others we couldn't. But if you know you failed a moral test, at least you have enough morals to know you were wrong

Why would one test of your morals make you think that you are moral? Doesn't/can't morality be applied in day to day events? Wouldn't a *truly* moral person deal with moral situations as if they were second nature and the fact that you considered it a test that you're no fully committed to your moral system?

Not really answers, but questions to help you think about your moral system. Personally I think that morality encompasses your life, not just the tests.

I guess you don't really know. I'm sure Jeffry Dahmer thought he was being moral, so did Hitler. The Christians during the crusades thought they were 100% moral in slaughtering millions of native south aAmericans.

The only way you can tell is to compare your morals to the society that you live in. Do they match, or are fairly close? Do you feel as though you have made a contribution to humanity? Do you feel that your decision made you a better person?

Who hasn't been tested morally? I mean except for those who haven't reached the age of accountability. Personally, I'm tested multiple times a day.
Do I answer a question on here nicely, trying to give the person the benefit of the doubt when their question really doesn't read well? Or do I tell them off?
Do I put down on my timesheet that I worked 8 hours, or do I put down the true number of hours I work, even if that means overtime that the boss doesn't like? What if I'm late to work, but work through lunch? Am I still late? Does that mean that even though I worked for 8 hours because I worked through lunch that I should really only put down 7.75 because I'm not supposed to work during lunch? Am I lieing if I do?

Everyone's been tested morally.

I believe we are all morally tested everyday, in every aspect of our lives.

If one is a moral person, one doesn't need to think about morality. The whole idea is to live life with a firm set of moral values which are applied to everything, everyday without thinking about it.

"Waiting" to be tested is simply silly. That assumes the person is jello inside until or unless some gigantic event comes along to provide some sort of "test".

Morality is learned at the knee of your parents....you don't have to believe is some mythical fairytale to be "moral".

You are either moral or you are not. If you are, there is no need for a test.

What the !@&$#!~! is "tested morally". You have been duped, tricked, swindled by some really ignorant folk.

Morality is what you think by using your own brain and then comparing that answer to everyone else. NOT what everyone else thinks and them getting together and asking a bunch of questions so that they can decide (because of what they believe) if you fit in THEIR definition of morality. I am offended that some group of people have devised a MORALITY TEST !!! OMG That is corrupting the minds of the youth if I ever heard it.

Don't you worry about what that group of losers are trying to make you believe. You use your own brain and figure things out for yourself... what works for you. You will make the right decisions and you definitely don't need them.

Good luck

How can you know that you are a moral person when you haven't been tested in a different way? Maybe it'll turn out you're not.

We are all tested as to our loyalty to God and to family members. Can our wife trust us? Can we do the right thing?
Do we try to take advantage of others to make money?
Are we selfish with others, less fortunate?
Do we give of ourselfs to help others. Be it your grandmother or the little old lady down the street. Do we care about others?
So we are all tested and tried by our own selfish desires every day. HOw do we react to these desires?
That tells if we are moral people or not.
Have you sent a baby picture to a loving aunt or grand mother who it would mean so much to them?
So selfish means our time as well as our resources.
Call your mother!!!!!!!!!!

Christians don't have the weight of heaven and hell permanently held above our heads. We live under grace and not law. The law demands perfection and nothing less. Christ fulfilled the law and we live in the redemptive power of Christ. Are we perfect, not on a bet. Are we forgiven, yes indeed. Whom the Son sets free is free indeed.
