I believe in it on the micro-evolutionary level, but that is all. It has been scientifically proven that each species does evolve, but never changes into a different form or species. There has yet to be found one single transitional form out of the millions of fossil records we have, so until one is found and accepted as well as PROVEN by the scientific community to be just that, then no I don't believe in evolution as it is taught by the majority of the scientific community. I mean it doesn't take a Harvard grad to realize that thousands of these forms if not more should have been found by now. The archaeopteryx had me wondering at first, but after studying it for myself, I can't help but agree with the majority of the scientific community that was indeed just a strange little bird. Peace

Hello BGrimey
How do you *know* it is a "well attested fact"?
I am a pretty well educated and widely read individual with an interest in science. For most of my life I thought evolution was a "well attested fact" until some offensive comments about someone I knew sent me on an investigation of these "well attested facts."
Let's say I am agnostic on evolution now. I do not find this "well attested fact" at all compelling any more, and I think, were you to investigate the "fact" yourself instead of pretending to be a sophisticate on Yahoo answers you might be better informed for the future.

This is just sad. I'm depressed and frightened for the state of education in America (in particular).
Evolution, meaning a change in allele frequencies in a population over time, is an absolute, incontrivertible proven, laboratory-tested, witnessed, observed and factual occurrence.
It happens. It has happened. We have proof that it happens. Over time, the proportion of different genetic characteristics in a population change. There is NO rational way to deny that this happens.
The THEORY of evolution, meaning the scientific explanation as to WHY and HOW that change in allele frequency occurs, and the implications of those changes over time is the part of 'evolution' that you think hasn't been proved.
The theory of evolution actually has more evidence supporting it than does the theory that the Earth orbits around the Sun, but I don't expect any of you to understand that.
Just keep reading your little Book. I'm sure it will help you greatly as our civilization slides farther and farther into a religion-induced dark age.
Dang, I'm going home to drink. You people are depressing the fark out of me.

I do not believe in evolution!!!! I can live with adaptaion....like a species of squirrels seperated by the grand canyon adapted differently an now on one side the squirrels have smaller ears and larger tails than those on the other.
But Evolution..NO WAY
You will never convince me that an amoeba turned into a fish which turned in to a mouse which turned into an ape and so on. Tht is not logical in any way shape or form.

Anyone who can read should have a problem with it. We have no missing link between any two animals let alone man and chimps. If we had evolved down that long a chain from chimp through all the phases suggested wouldn't a true scientist expect to find one physical link beyond some base similarities. The best cases for micro-evolution that I have ever seen are at best simple adaptations and do not lead logically to an argument for any form of evolution.

I believe in evolution but not the Big Bang theory. Evolution is a given. We see people screaming every day about something going extinct and have to give up much of our rights because of this evolution.
The Big Bang theory is NOT evolution. I do not accept that theory. No one has been able to duplicate the Big Bang so it is NOT an attested fact.

I cannot believe that rational people won't accept that God's design includes evolution. They are not mutually exclusive. Intellegent design is not the opposite of evolution! (That's my turn on the soap box for the day.)

As a Christian, I believe evolution is a small part of the creation-- perhaps the manner of creation.

I believe in it-but that's the point "believe" based on theories and discoveries-but it is wrong to say it is a fact for Macro evolution, there is no such fact-It's a belief.
Micro evolution is a fact. (where the white moth in a pulluted area is used as a prime example-only the ones born with black spots surived and so the white ones died off, leaving the black moth in a certain area.-vague explanation)

I believe in evolution because i went to the dentist the other day and babies born in the 21st century have no molars but people born before that do have wisdom teeth which is example of evolutionBUTTTTTTTTT
I also believe that Jesus had a hand in the way things evolved. He chose what evolved and how it changed.
I also like b oobies
