The below R&S post states just this...yet, when I search the internet...the only one I find that took an oath on the Quran was Keith Ellison. Is this true or an urban legend as it relates to Barack Obama? Can anyone point me in the direction to this answer.
Also, look at the picture attached on the post...is this for real? Does Obama really not salute the American Flag...again, is this true or urban legend?
Any links to proof would be appreciated.
I am a fiscal conservative and social liberal...However, I could not support someone who would not salute the flag of the country that he wants to govern. In addition, if he doesn't want his hand on the Bible fine...but, he should not put his hand on anything....

I don't know what you people are thinking but I have been in the USAF & I do know for a fact that the "United States Flag code" states that civilians should have their right hands over their hearts and that they should be facing the flag.
Also, how could you vote/allow someone like this into office. We as "Americans" left Europe, Africa & other countrys to make a life for us to practice religion & have a democratic government. I know that I will not be voting for someone who does not show any respect to our forefathers who fought for the freedoms that we now have today. I have fought for them & I hope my children have the opportunity to fight for them too!
What this country needs to do is mandate federal service for a minimum of 4 yrs. So, all "Americans" know what it means to be an "American" in this great "Free" country.

Urban myth.
Obama is a Christian and much of a fuss has been made of the nationalist leanings of his church.
Obama stopped wearing a flag pin on his lapel but has not stopped saluting the flag. Let's hope others break ranks. I'd love to halt our drift toward Stalinism, where everyone must display loyalty.

So what if he doesn't salute the flag, its not a real thing, what matters is what he does for the real people living in the country. Who cares about the stupid flag anyway? I don't know if he doesn't salute it or not, I am just saying, if you're basing your opinion on a person on if they salute the flag or not, then you're missing the bigger picture.

there is no possibility that the Republican social gathering would desire to get a great majority in November and there is no longer something to question President Obama on. Impeachment court situations have in common terms been tried two times contained in the history of the U.S. and did no longer effect contained in the removing of the President in the two case.

Obama is a christian, but I don't know if he put his hand on the bible to be sworn in. I would think that he did.
The picture that I saw he was not, but it is also not mandatory to put your hand over your heart, and it doesn't mean that he usually won't.
If this was the only reason that you would not vote for him, I hope that you hold all others to the same standards.

He did not pledge on the koran, he's a christian.
He did not cover his heart every single time he heard the national anthem. Basically, his press reporters said he does sometimes, and he doesn't other times-I believe the implication is that he has more things to be concerned with than remembering to cover his heart during a song.

Jesus says in the bible that you shouldn't be taking any oaths whatsoever. So taking an oath with your hand on the bible of all things is quite a big piece of mockery, so i'd rather have him use the Quran if that doesn't mention God not wanting oaths.
