It doesn't seem so. You people who call yourselves good Christians judge tremendously!!! Do you even read about other religions? I'm an Atheist, and yes I have read your Bible, the Torah, and many other religous books and I turn them away for the theory you don't even read about! I'm sorry I just judged myself, but I have to fume somehow, don't I? Yes, I have feelings, how about that?!

I'm surprised so many Christians do, many don't show it and probably aren't brave enough to show their faces.

I love you just the same no matter who you are or what religion you are. I don't believe that anything should get in the way of peace amongst people. There are some things on here that i just can't figure out, like why we can't all accept the fact that were different whether it be skin color or religion...and just move on.

Thank you. Being a Christian I am convinced I am in no position to judge anyone, but am never the less forced to choose.
Being a curious sort I do seek to explore and understand so I spend some time learning from the Dalai Llama, visiting the Holy land and having discussions with Muslims and spend a few months living in a Hindu monastary as well as experiencing shamanic and pagan rites and rituals.
I have had to conclude that God guides people within every one of these religious movements and since He is the only one who can judge, but does not, neither should we. If God sends His Holy spirit to a priest I can only accept the authority the Lord has bestowed.
In my mind some religions are better or preferable, hence my choice, but having accepted His judgement as ultimate I try to keep these convictions merely in my mind since I know them to be only my truth rather than the Truth.

After the last few answers to my last question I'm not sure that some understand that having a rich and varied spiritual life still leads to God. It can hurt my feelings on some occasions. I have read the Bible, studied the Torah and pretty much every other sacred text out there so that I could come to the decisions I've embraced. It's not like I'm a moron who shows no respect.

I not only read about a few other religions, but also studied a few. In the study I found them all lacking. Including a "basic" study of Christianity based on "its failures".
What I discovered was this. Christianity as a practice of ethics and morality is so-so, actually pretty reasonable. The significant difference for me came when I accepted the fact of a real Jesus who really loved me and everyone else, enough so as to sacrifice all He had in order to rescue and redeem any who would believe in Him. The striking thing about Jesus is that He is able to do what He says He is able to do. He alone says to cast our burdens on Him. No other religion offers hope as does faith in Jesus.
As far as judging other religions... yes we (believers and non-believers alike) all judge other religions as we rightly should, to determine whether it is viable or not.

I took alot of religion and philosophy classes in college and I have talked to a lot of people of other religions and denominations, yes. I questioned my own faith for many years, so in that respect I have judged and chosen one but I am not judgemental which is different. We should not be judgemental, which implies a prejudice of thought and has an air of haughtiness, which is not loving. But we should be able to weigh the issues and discern/judge what we believe to make sense to us.

With most people, not just Christians, the judgment comes before the knowledge. I can tell you about the Christians who are close to me. My family and some of thier friends. Primarily they read the Christian views on different religions (specifically Islam as I am a Muslim convert). They are not that interested in reading from a Muslim or independant/agnostic/historical perspective. They usually have a lot of "information" brought to them from their Christian friends. Most of it I am easily able to prove wrong with the Quran itself. I think it takes a specific personality to be openminded enough to read something they won't necesarily agree with. It seems most people don't have that strength in them.
I wouldn't ask a Jew about Christianity, I wouldn't ask a Christian about Hinduism, or a Muslim about Buddism...

I don't know if "good" Christians do, but this Christian definitely does. If I'm curious about another religion, I'll not only research it, but will attend services. I'm a lifelong Christian, but I've been to Jewish, Buddhist, Pagan, and many, many other types of services. I've attended the services of plenty of Christian denominations outside of my own, as well. I don't want to base my opinions regarding the beliefs of others on mere hearsay; I want to see for myself. I'm very open to learning about the religious beliefs and philosophies of others. I've also attended atheist meetings, and have been invited to be a guest speaker at several of them.

They do, but most of the time it is written by someone that is mistaken about other beliefs. When i was a member of the churches of Christ I was told many things that we practiced and believed because someone wrote a book with misinformation and claimed to be an expert on us.
Just look at the misinformation they are fed about Wicca.

if you've read both the bible and torah you'd know that one is part of the other.
i just finished Tao te Ching. Lao Tzu seems to share many teaching similarities with Jesus.
