Catholics: Hebrews is in the BIBLE, that's the Book where you get the readings used in your Missals.

now it's obvious that it looks like this question is directed at believers in the God of the Bible, and it is in part....

I would also like to hear from those who believe in other gods or have other modes of spirituality.

As well, for our Atheists friends, what is more important to you, your country or your immediate circumstance (well being, where you live, personal interaction that affects your personal life etc)

Also, I'm not interested in the declaration of independance or any quotes. I am looking for a direct response from your heart, regardless of the country in which your live (I am Canadian)

It is predicted that by 2020, we will start running out of oil? The only reason there is so much attention in the middle east right now is for the oil. Why would all nations as, is predicted in the bible, care so much about all that sand if it has no more oil?

Synopsis of article above: Land says there are four Abrahamic religions. First the Jewish religion, then the Christian religion, then the Muslim religion, and finally the Mormon religion.

I'm not interested in any bashing answers. Just curious about whether you think the Mormon religion should be considered a fourth Abrahamic religion, or part of Christianity, or if you're really closed minded a cult (which by the way, even the SBC has taken off their list of cults - see article for details).

Thanks.

Have you ever wrote a book ? I'm thinking that if I write a book , what I'm seeing in my mind is what I'm trying to put on paper. When the book has been finished I can read it and "see" what I was seeing during the writing.

When someone else reads my book they envision as they read, and probably come close to some of the things I was seeing as I wrote, but unless they can get into MY mind they can never experience ALL of what I envisioned as I wrote.

So, to understand the Bible we must be in the mind of God. This is called revelations...

Deuteronomy 29:29 The secret things belong unto the Lord our God; but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

MATTHEW 16:13-19 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias or one of the prophets. He saith unto them, But whom say YE that I am ? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto Him, Blessed art thou Simon Barjona: for FLESH and BLOOD hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say ALSO unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock ( REVELATION) I will build My church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. AND I will give unto thee the KEY of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth SHALL be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt LOOSE on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Isaiah 28:9 Whom shall He teach knowledge? And whom shall He make to understand doctrine? Them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.

1st. Corinthians 2; 14-16 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them because THEY ARE SPIRITUALLY DISCERNED.

1st. Corinthians 2;16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that He may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

1st. Corinthians 2;10 But God hath revealed them unto us BY HIS SPIRIT; for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

This is also " The Water of the Word ". 1st John 5:7,8 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood : and these three agree in one.

Ephesians 5:25,26 Husbands, love your wives even as
Christ also loved the church, and gave Himself for it; that He might sanctify and cleans it with the washing of water by the Word ( with the revelations brought forth by the Word ).

Revelations 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say,Come. And let him that heareth say,Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

John 3:5,6 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit .

When I was getting into the Lord he gave me a hunger for His Word. I was obsessed.
If there was something in the Word that I didn't understand, I would immediately go into fasting and prayer for the understanding. As I was learning more and more, I came up on scripture that seemed to contradict itself. Immediately I went into fasting and prayer. It was only a few moments and the Lord spoke to me and said: " Forget EVERYTHING you have heard from preachers and teachers, and HEAR what the SPIRIT is saying to the church ". Well, it took awhile to get into the habit of hearing God instead of men, but HALLELUIAH it was worth it !!!

I encourage each of you to diligently seek the revelations of the Word !!! KNOW the mind of God.

PEACE AND LOVE in the HOLY GHOST....

I am agnostic. And have nothing against people having religious beliefs as long as they do not impact on me (that said, most of our older laws are based on religious views, so it is hard to escape)
However, according to the 2001 Census 71.6% of the UK population claim to be Christian. I don't know anyone who gets married in churches anymore, or pray, or go to Sunday Worship, or take their children to school. I only know one person who believes in God and Jesus. Admittedly, it might be the circles I socialise in, but what about work colleagues etc?
I am being serious on this one btw (I like a laugh now and then, but I want serious and intelligent answers on this one, save the mocking of me or anyone else for later)

If you believe we evolved, then why do you think the different races of manking have evolved exactly the same? It would only make sence that along with the major physical appearences, that there are internal appearences in evolutionary differences, such as inteligence, emotional, and overall brain capacity. Evolving on different continents, literally REQUIRING a different capacity of the brain.

Those who believe in a devine creator (like myself) know that all mankind was created in gods image, and therefore contains the same spiuritual energy, and same capacity despite the physical appearence.

HOw can you believe in evolution, but say you feel one race is not physically more capable than the next?

I read that if the energy of the Big Bang were different by 1 part in 10^120, then there'd be no life anywhere in the universe. Everything would be dust or collapsed. How do atheists respond to the argument that this is evidence of a divine creator?

What can I do the so religious people in our family did terrible wrong thing to me in my life and behaving that they are wright and having bible and go to church often. They know that I will forgive them according to the Jesus doctrine. I didn't call them almost 1 year. They called me once in 6 months and talked to me how I am doing? I answered briefly... that's it. I've seen some stuff on it before, but my dad sent me a list of comparisons between 1970 and 2007 in our schools.

It doesn't directly state it, but christians will many times use this as an example that god is gone in our country and so therefore the morals of our kids etc... has gotten worse.

Of course you could use any argument to support your claim. IE. The reason schools have more violence is directly related to the decrease in the amount of pirates on earth.

But anyways. Can anyone help me to respond to this allegation or point me to a site which goes into more detail about his.

It's not like we're all a bunch of Christians. Many of us are Jewish, Islamic, or Atheist. Why do Christians so carelessly assume that everyone is a member of their cult? Don't they know that it's more politically correct to wish someone a happy solstice?

Evolution put simply means to develop gradually so we all evolved. It seems to me that the arguements for and against evolution is rather pointless if we go on this definition. However in biology evolution appears to have a different meaning. Why is that and what exactly is the meaning within biology? I am religious and within my religion we are told that creation of our world took place and that it developed over time; evolution. So evolution is to me logical.

Isn't Jesus talking about Christians-on-the-cheap who have faith but no works? Doesn't he show us how faith ALONE cannot save us?

"Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.'

"They also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?'

"He will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'

"Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."

James 2:24: You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone.
