I have a large family and several are disabled. Why wouldn't god in the ot let them in church?
"And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto Aaron, saying, Whosoever he be of thy seed in their generations that hath any blemish, let him not approach to offer the bread of his God. . . . a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath a flat nose, or any thing superfluous. Or a man that is brokenfooted, or brokenhanded, Or crookbacked, or a dwarf, or that hath a blemish in his eye, or be scurvy, or scabbed, or hath his stones broken; No man that hath a blemish of the seed of Aaron the priest shall come nigh to offer the offerings of the Lord made by fire . . . he shall not go in unto the vail, nor come nigh unto the altar, because he hath a blemish; that he profane not my sanctuaries: for I the Lord do sanctify them." (Leviticus 21:16-23)

So ive been out of touch with the Church for a few hundred years... maybe some one out there could help me
Could anyone tell me what the offical stance of the Church is on the ways in which it is appropriate to have sex? is it still just the missionary position with the guy on top, or have they loosened up at all? also does this have anything to do with male vs female supremecy?
please give the name of the church denomination about which you are speaking. Please also sight scripture where appropriate.

and yes i know you gotta be married, so just dont bother quoting a bunch of passages about that.

somebody yesterday made the remark that discussing science with theists is like playing chess with a pidgeon, he knocks all the pieces over, poops on the board then flys back to the coop to brag to his friends that he made a fool of you.

Sure. Evolution, the big bang, and all the other great reasons not to be an evangelical Christian sound perfectly reasonable. The whole theory is a blatant contradiction of the bible, after all. That said, How can we be sure we're not under the influence of Satan as the Bible suggests?

Perhaps, a 6000 year creation and a God who chunks all nonbelievers into a lake of fire for all eternity is completely reasonable on some level. But we're all too Satanically influenced to realize it.

If I as a pagan...would proclaim that Jesus Christ indeed died for the sins of mankind and sacrificed himself so that we (nations of the world) could be purged of our sins and live in heaven in communion for all eternity ???
As well as to accept Jesus as my personal savior ???

---note the IF and the pagan part ;)

What would you say to that ???

Article in the Yahoo News front page.

Trees are what convert carbon dioxide to oxygen. So? How do we prevent forest fires.

In the case of CA fires it was about a person setting fires. And also, http://www.kimclement.com prophesied about this before it happened. So? I see that God gave the devil permission to do this. And it has global affects.

What the devil meant for destruction, God turns for good.

Set aside, for a moment, the fact that the intellectual concept of disbelief in the unsupported doesn't include any of these negative connotations, and consider that many people may just be mentally wired to BECOME sociopaths without an objective punishment and reward system...what if atheism actually does, effectively, cause immoral behavior in people? People who don't understand the minutia or empathy involved in moral interaction with others, that's given, but people nonetheless...

Can we ignore something like that by suggesting they are not REAL atheists, or do we have to look at human safety and suffering pragmatically? Do we have to admit that intellectual ideals can be misdirected into harmful actions, and consequently, are we responsible to prevent harm wherever we can, even at the expense of the ideal?

Say if you murdered people for about 2 yrs but you had a mental illness and did not go to jail. You come out of a mental institution and feel guilt but do not pray and somebody recognises you and batters you to death.

Would God consider you 'forgiven'.?

They have recently been hit with fine of over $10,000,000 for condemning a soldier at his funeral. This is nothing new for the Westboro Baptist Church and they plan to continue. Should they be hit with a class action lawsuit?

This way all the answers aren't about apples this time.
*I know it doesn’t say apple* (sorry for the tude but *duh*)

And I know it metaphorically refers to making a choice to step outside of the will of God thus taking control and responsibility for your own decisions

Like sexuality for instance. He said that any man that lies with another man or a woman with a woman will be burned in a furnace of fire.

I know being bisexual or gay is considered a sin, but I thought God forgave all our sins.
