Absolutely yes!
The word of God tells us this is the way it will be - so it isn't a surprise to those of us who know His word and may i say plan for mankind. When families, schools, work-places, governments reject God and go about their own ways - God just lets us get on with the decisions we make - but amazingly He still loves us and is there at the end to pick us up when we fall - although there's always a price to pay. All we can do is pray that others come to know God - and know that when He gives us guidance it's for our good - it's never b/c He wants to restrict our choice.
As for justice - there's very little - but God tells us also - He will bring justice in the end - and what God says will be - we can be absolutely certain of this.
I'll leave you with an encouraging word Denis: Poster Billybozobones posted the prayer that some members of parliament pray daily - God hears - and just maybe if they didn't pray we might be in a worse situation...

~~Our God Reigns~~
The scripture that always encourages me is Psalm 37 - worth a read.

Do you actually have any numbers to back up your claim that crime rates are spiraling out of hand or any of the other stuff your making up off the top of your head. I would like to know when you think these lawless godless times began, because I am pretty sure I would rather be alive now more so than any other period in history. I guess you hearken back to the good old days when the church kept a stranglehold on all new and different ideas and burned anyone that uttered a single word of dissent at the stake. Yeah god was so prevalent back then, it's just to bad humanity had to make all of the advancements it has or we could still be living in the dark ages dumping our feces out of the windows and praying that our great loving god doesn't give us the plague.

The moral Zeitgeist is ever-changing, not eroding. For instance, the acceptance of gays is a good thing, just as equality of black decades ago and the rights of women before that. It is still not morally acceptable to do many things.
Crime rates are not "spiralling out of hand". Justice is not absent to the family victims. Your information is misguided or just plain wrong.

Edit: You do not make a valid point by sensationalizing anything. There is a tendency for many to say things like "the worst", or to compare anyone bad with Hitler, etc. Things like that only work to diminish the past, not put the present in perspective.

It is sad to see that so many disregard God and disrespect God, and then blame God for the atrocities that happen. re:Why didn't God stop that fire--or that hurricaine??? Where are all the people who are truely worshipping God? I think those are the ones in the small minority. Yes there may be 80-90% of those who believe in God--but Satan also believes in God but certainly does not worship Him. Our society is a self loving society that has had it very easy in comparison to people in third world countries. I realize that we have people in America that are homeless and destitute--but as a whole this couintry is the richest in the world. Another problem I see in the answers are that people refer to religion being everywhere. Jesus Christ deplored religion and was killed by the religious zealots of His time for that opinion, so religion in and of itself is not a good thing, but a power game. God not only wants, but demands that we kneel before Him and call Him Lord and Savior. Without that, we do not have the assurance of His protection. I feel blessed and thankful that God puts up with us as He does. As much as He is ridiculed, hated, spat upon, misquoted, ignored and laughed at by many in our society, He continues to give us air to breath, food to eat, shelter and hope. One day the truth will be revealed, and it will be a joyous day for many, and a horrid understanding for others.

Don't be ridiculous. There is more hardcore religion now than there has ever been! The level of violence like gun crime in America is atrocious for a developed country and yet it out ways all of Europe when it comes to believers. Problems in society have nothing to do with fictional Deity's or lack thereof.

about 70% of criminals are Christian, the most terror we encounter today is a product of religious extremism, these are facts: how does your God explain this?

the problem with certain parts of society is that they are quick to pass the buck. Money plays a big part in the decline of society, the rich are too quick to put their riches in off shore accounts so they can get out of paying taxes to help the poor. one of the richest companies on earth is the CATHOLIC CHURCH, and the most heinous crime of all is that they do not pay taxes in any country that they are established, but they profess that they are an organised religion based on charity and good will

yeah right!!!

An interesting question Denis. I think all that is true. Because even if you overlook the being a Christian part then you have this fantastic structure that is a basis for society to self police. The Jews have it right . We in this society reject more than Jesus when we take him out of our schools. The rejection of morals, the preferring of others replaced with the raising up of self and the preferring of self. All for self and self for all society. I reject that sort of society. That sort of society is devoid of love for others. God is no longer no 1 but man becomes the great "I AM" Instead of God, which of course is what the man of sin stands for. 666 which means MAN MAN MAN.

There that's my view. Replace God with Man and you will get chaos.

Ridiculous. Our species has been horrible to each other for thousands of years, including the many thousands of years before any formal religion ever formed.
I might add that in several important ways our species has probably become better as a result of secular influence. Voting rights for women, the end of slavery as a state-acknowledged institution, broadening of educational opportunities, a bigger "marketplace of ideas" through books, and a growing scientific establishment that continues to make headway towards reducing the ancient myths and fables that we used to rely on to explain what we did not understand.

Things are better. Not perfect, but better. Secularism is a better product of the mind than any religion.

Oh come on. The "absence" of God? Religion is everywhere these days. Maybe they can't do teacher-led prayer anymore, but I went to a public school and we had religious clubs, religious discussions, people expressing their faith in class discussions, prayer before certain activities... heck, we even had a voluntary religious ceremony at the end of the year. Maybe you can't teach creationism anymore, but I think God is doing just fine in schools these days.

God is present everywhere. It is Man's self will and selfishness, greed and all our other character defects that get us into trouble and harm others. Jesus is the Greatest example of how to live-as a servant to His Father in heaven and to the people on this Earth.
