It doesn't matter what the invention is.It could be toilet paper or soap or the wheel. We can study history and can name the person who made these inventions.Yet, many Christians, will claim those are God created inventions or God inspired or God made the ingredients and so he made the invention.Do those Christians who think in these terms have a problem giving mankind any credit?

I went to church once with my Mom on Easter, we never talked about God, and I was too afraid to bring it up. My Mom was baptised Baptist and my Dad Methodist, he athiest now, i think. The only thing my Mom said is you don't have to go to church to believe in God. I thought I found God when I was in my late teens. I ask Jesus in to my heart in and strayed from that. I don't think I understood at the time and my parents frowned upon me going to church. Every since then I've been confused. Here I am a Mom. My husband that I are bringing up into Christianity. More him than me. I don't know what's holding me back from dedicating my life to God. I mean I'm pretty sure about all this there's just been so many times where I wanted to live right but I've never stayed with it. I've never been baptised and I think that may be the reason why I can't do it. I don't want my kids knowing that I haven't been 100% dedicated to God their whole lives. Is it okay if I don't get baptised for this reason?

Why does it seem so important to know how the world and universe were created? Does it benefit us in the present at all? We know that it is here, and that most likely at some point it will be gone, is this not enough?

If youdo not do that you will not see glory. It is the first dtep to eternal life. No other choices. This appies not only to christianity. But to all other religions and their false gods of distruction.

My question is this-

Why aren't more CHRISTIANS rallying against people like Fred and Shirley Phelps? I saw more outcry from the Jews over the Passion- and that was a STUPID movie. The Phelps family is potentially damaging to not only the people they harass, but the Christians as well.

These people DO make a mess of your names and DO further stain your religion's reputation- So why aren't there more Christians doing anything about it?

Focused Attacks

"And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts."

— Mark 4:15

Temptation comes to everyone, but the enemy focuses many of his attacks on those who are young in the faith and those who are making a difference in the kingdom.

After our conversion the devil is there, tempting us to doubt our own salvation. He whispers in our ears, "You think you are saved? You think Christ really came into your life? Are you crazy?" This is just a tactic the enemy keeps recycling again and again.

The Bible tells us that when we are young in the faith, we are especially vulnerable. We see in the parable of the sower that young believers are immediately attacked. Jesus said, "And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts" (Mark 4:15). He is there to attack those who are young in the faith.

Temptation also comes to those who are making a difference in the kingdom of God. First of all, he doesn't want you to come to Christ. But once you have made that commitment, his next strategy is to immobilize you, to get you to compromise yourself and be ineffective. He doesn't want you to be a threat to his kingdom.

If you want to make a difference, if you want to reach people who don't know the Lord, then don't expect a standing ovation in hell. The enemy won't take it lightly. He will attack you. You had better expect it. Brace yourself for it, and pray for other believers, whether they are new in the faith or are already making a difference.

... and I choose to sin, and are cast into an eternal fire for my choice... what was "free" about it? It's like a man holding a gun to my head and saying "Give me all your money, or don't.... it's up to you"

I don't understand -- I don't give people thumbs down for not believing in God. Is it the sole assumption that because I believe in God, I do not accept your beliefs, either?

I am not the type of person to rely every action that has ever happened on the basic belief that "God did it."

Why is there so much hate? Why can't one just answer the question? Do you always give thumbs up or thumbs down based on whether or not you agree with the answerers opinion, or does anyone here actually give a thumbs up if it answers the question?

If you don't believe in God and depend on logic, then isn't your logic better off helping others in other sections where you could really "help" someone ?
Is it that maybe you want to believe in God ? and you fear (like us) that there is a hell ?
It just pisses people off when they ask a question about something they believe in (God) and then all your 'help' is "there is no God" or "I dont believe that because I dont believe in God" ? that is not 'helping' in answering a spiritual question. (and I personally think it's pretty rude.)
Some people who believe in God come to this section to HELP people like you. It's like, "If you build it, they will come"
you are the "they" I wonder if God has brought you to this section because he is trying to speak to you in some way ? what to you think ? too weird ?
Mainly, Do you want to believe ? or you just trying to offend those who do believe ? Are you afraid hell might exist ?
