I'm 34, and I've struggled with that since I was a kid. The God of the bible seems really difficult to admire.

Here is an example of the asker overlooking many intelligent answers to find the only other bigot that posted an answer so she could agree with her. Should we have the ability to override the selection of "Best Answer"? Should the criteria be changed so voting selection has preference over the asker being able to choose? How about if the thumbs down outnumber the thumbs up you arent eligible for Best Answer?Any other thoughts??

I was raised Catholic but haven't been to a catholic church in many years. I recently met many christians and their understanding is you are saved by faith in Jesus Christ. You admit you are a sinner, ask for forgiveness, believe he died and rose from the dead and repent your sins. Become more Christlike. Wondering what you all thought and agreed with

Here is my big question to the Heretics who adhere to Jacobus Arminius and the Roman Catholic Dogma. When does eternal life begin? Does it not begin when you are saved? And if it is lost, how can it be received again? Eternal life begins then.

Salvation can not be earned thus it cannot be lost. We all believe in the Trinity and it is not spelled out in the Bible. The Trinity is necessary if we have Three Persons but only One God. Likewise, eternal salvation is the only logical outcome of being born again.

Once saved, you are born into a new life, you old soul has died, been crucified with Christ, buried, and been risen. This is symbolically shown during Baptism. How, then, if you lose this life gotten by God's sacrifice, can you retain it?

Hebrews 6:6 You can't get it back because you can't lose it!

Its good thing that God does not believe in Genocide though. Right? He is our loving Father who just gets pissed sometimes. I mean, you would get pissed too if your ants in the antfarm weren't doing what you told them to. Teehee.. :}

When challenged about the existence of God I often hear something to the effect of:
"...this morning the sun was shining brightly and the birds were singing and the day was so beautiful, how could you not believe in God?..."
So my Q is this: when you look out onto the world and see the news filled with rapes and murders and it's pouring rain and everything seems wrong that doesn't disprove your God to you. (I'm not in any way asking for converts here) Just wondering how you take the good with the bad. When horrible things happen you seem to shrug it off as God working in mysterious ways and it being part of his plan. When good things happen it appears to be a clear cut case of him smiling down on you (to you).
I just don't get it. Please explain.

The Lord proved existence to the people by taking them out of Egypt, bringing great plagues on to their oppressors. The Lord nourished them when they were hungry, and gave them drink when they were thirsty. The Lord opened up the seas for them.

The Lord came down and spoke directly to the people. These people, who were witness, did not follow the word. Who am I to think that I can make a difference if the Lord could not?

The proof is all around us. Everyone has been witness to a miracle at one time or another. Non believers come up with reasons. We have seen things that defy all logic. Again, non believers come up with more reasons. I bet if the Lord came down right now, people will still deny. All I want to say to believers is to keep the word of the Lord in your hearts, and don't bother with athiests. You can't help someone who doesn't want it.Let them waste their time figuring what caused the Big bang if there isnt anything there to cause it,or how humans came from apes.

Jhn 8:11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

why did Jesus tell Mary to sin no more if she was forgiven and saved why did it matter if you sinned again if once saved always saved?

Isn't possible to backslide? Why does God warn us to not be a stumblingblock to others if they are once saved always saved?

1Cr 8:9 But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak.
