so you saying that because we used to use christ's birth as a year marker, you use pagan gods as day markers too. HAHAHAHA!!!

We'll just go along with whatever year you want. It's not a big thing for us. Practically speaking, it wouldn't make sense to start specifying years in 14 billions for the age of the universe.
And- while a religious icon may have been used to set the current annual counting to zero, Christianity didn't invent the common calendar.

I'm not an athiest but I'm also not a Christian. In the country I live in, it's 2007 CE. AD & BC are Christian terms. BC & BCE are the universal terms. We didn't invent the Julian calandar but do use it as it's been the standard since it became widely used in Europe during the Renaissance.

Atheism isnt a religion, therefore there is no reason why they would be against using a system that works just because it was derived from a religious event. That would be pointless and hypocritical.

The Christian church used to run every aspect of life. They had good ideas and bad ideas. We've kept the good ones, but it's really hard to get rid of the bad ones.
