If you meet someone who doesn't believe in gay marriage, do you automatically think of them as your personal enemy? I'm asking because honestly that's the impression I get. I don't believe in gay marriage but I do believe everyone is equally important. I don't hate gay people, nor do I see them as "inferior". I just don't feel the same way about the idea of gay marriage. Know what else? I'm what you would call a "fundie", and I think it's horrible the way that word has been demonized. As if "fundies" don't feel anything, don't love, don't live, don't deserve any basic human treatment or kindness, even though we have never withheld any of those things from anyone else despite the cruel stereotype our self-proclaimed "enemies" have created against us. So, do you really see me as your enemy? I'd like to know. And if you do, would you be open to consider the idea that maybe I'm not? Maybe fundies are nice people too, just with different beliefs?
Or would that be a little too tolerant?

In order for mankind to supposively know the difference between Good and Evil they had to eat from the tree of Good and Evil. So when Adam and Eve ate from the tree of Good and Evil from Eve having a little chat with a snake they did. God told them before hand surely you will die if you eat of the tree of Good and Evil. Hmmm that makes me think though, if you don't know what good or bad is how could you understand that death is a bad thing??? How could they have known God was good without eating that fruit? So of course since they did eat the fruit and everyone now has a death sentence why would God create that tree? Did he want to set up the situation so mankind would commit suicide over temptations?

If you had to summarize why you do(n't) beleive in God into one sentence, what would that sentence be?

Mine: I don't believe in god because "extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence" (Carl Sagan), and there is NO evidence for God.

I've studied Christianity so hard because I want to believe. But I just can't. Nowadays, religion isn't about self-discovery and spirituality. It's about politics and fear.

Can anyone give me a good reason to believe?
If God is all loving and understanding, won't he understand how I can't believe in him?

I was saved by Jesus when I was 18. The experience was genuine and I really believed at the time. And I was assured by the Church that just as there was nothing I could do to save myself, there was nothing I could do to undo my salvation once I accepted it.

Fast forward 18 years. I don't believe in gods anymore. Am I still safe from the hellfire that I also don't believe in?

What are your thoughts on animal sacrifice? Is it something you are against? Why? As long as it is carried out humanely, do you think it is okay for people to worship their diety(s) how they choose? Isn't animal sacrifice included in freedom of worship?

Just a note before anyone mentions Satanism, vast majority of Satanists DO NOT practice animal sacrifice. Neither do Wiccans. Some religions such as Santeria and Vodoun, however, do. Even some Hebrews practiced animal sacrifice back in the day. Usually, the animal is killed humanely, the blood offered to their diety(s), and the meat is cooked and eaten (this may vary with tradition, but the animal is almost always killed humanely). How different is that from say, killing your own chicken and cleaning and cooking it yourself? They just add the aspect of religious worship to it.

No, this is not something I would choose to incorperate in my own religious beliefs, I was just curious to what others thoughts were.
