What is so Appealing about bowing, and scraping, and groveling to a god that is not your own? or following a religion that was forced upon you by threat of torture? Why worship a "heavan" and Damn the mother earth who has given you dominion and all that you need to live well?

Why continue? When there are God's who offer love of the purest kind. Love of you for your strength, for standing tall, for fighting the good fight? Not for being a slave, or 'punishing' yourself. God's who would have you call them false, and love you still if you be strong of heart and mind?

Why worship and toil for the "glory" of your god? When there are God's who have glory to spare?

Why be a slave for promise of rewards later, when you could be free, and reap your rewards on this earth?

Why hate your fellow becuse he belives differently?
I beseach you to answer me. How can you call your faith love when it would kill those that would welcome you despite your god?

Is this a new species?

The email subject line said something about girls revering them, is that like revering them in terms of fear? Most girls I know are afraid of snakes.

We have water restrictions here in Sydney and we can water our garden on Wednesdays with a hand held garden hose before 10am and after 4pm. That's fine.... but..

A 60+ year old man was doing just that and a younger pedestrian allegedly took him to task over it, genuinely believing that the more elderly man was contravening the curfew.

An argument allegedly ensued between them and it is said that one turned the garden hose on the other (as you would). The elderly man was allegedly bashed by the pedestrian and died on his way to hospital of a heart failure.

One man dead, one man awaiting trial.... caused by water restrictions. How wrong is that.

I feel for both of them. You?

I've been noticing lately that some people change their proclaimed belief a lot and often, they express their preferrence for one set of beliefs for maybe a couple of weeks and after that period the "newbies" start acting like they know EVERYTHING about it, being very outspoken and acting so very "true". Even lecturing the "oldies" about it.

Now call me set in my ways, but that's just something that wasn't done in my day. I've been taught to respect hierarchy and seniority. Is it just me or do new people not have this reserve at all anymore?

I've been into my current belief for years and years and still I don't go lecturing people around, like some members here that have been claiming their belief for a month.

Am I the only one annoyed by this?

Back in my young adulthood (early 20's) I worked in retail and as you all know who have worked in retail, there is alot of shoplifting. I noticed a pattern...the people who were always innocent had no problem with you looking in their bag. We would ask, and they would willingly hand it over...On the other hand, the people who shoplifted would always get immediately defensive and say things like "I didn't do anything!" or "I'm going to sue you for invading my privacy!" They were never cooperative and always defensive.

So my question is if I asked to see your bag, what would I find? Do you feel the need to be defensive or cooperative and open? (metaphorically speaking of course). Would I find anything that should probably not be there?

I'm not asking if you have been baptized in water but by the Holy Spirit. What was your experience like if so? Do you know what it means? Have you heard of this before?

I see people argue about facts not matching because their "facts" are not literally the same.

Religion includes science easily (just gimme a chance), just take the Book that contradicts itself on its message, not its text.

i prayed that the rockies would win the series. my buddy prayed for the red sox. i guess he prayed harder than me? now, he believes in god and i don't.

does god have an address where i can send my prayers quicker? if two people pray for opposite things, who wins?

either god answers prayers or he doesn't....if he only answers some prayers, how do we know that isn't coincidence?

then why doesn't He help me when i feel sad and numb, why do i have no friends and a life full of personal hate and despair. Where was my Father when i needed him?? It just doesn't make sence believing in God and hoping when you get nothing in return from Him, why is life so unfair, why is that guy cooler than me while he has done nothing more than me to deserve it. Doen't God helps us because he hates us, not any loving God whould give people who are sad nothing but self- hate, destructional behavior. It is mostly the people who are sad and hope that God will help them go insane and start killing themselves or other people, where is our Father when all this happens, he could've prevented it if he gave some guidance to that sad person. I just can'tbelieve that their is a God helping us when we feel hopeless.

Well I'm wondering why Athiests (Please dont hate on me for saying this) try to prove there is no god? What did christians ever do to them? Also how comes they only talk about christians? Maybe because its the biggest religion in the world or something? I've read the bible and it even says that people will try to convince others that god isnt real.
Also, why wouldnt you wanna believe in a God? You have a better chance of Life of Eternity if you do....Just wondering. (If you are a athiest I have nothing against you) 1 more thing, christians never push there believes on people like athiests do (let me know if im wrong with that! Heh..)
That's all.

Any reference in there of catholicism doesn't have to do with me (I'm a christian) but I agree nonetheless with their summarization.
Anyone who values God's teachings and wishes to raise holy children should be wary of this movie and its books.
Let me know what you think?

so that we can enter heaven?

since believing in Jesus Christ is the only requirement to get you to heaven, it doesn't make any difference what you do as long as you believe in Him, right?

Let Jesus into your heart? Hand your will over to Jesus? Why? Why are Christians so affraid of themselves? Do you really believe people can't control their urges to sin if it were not for religion? So many questions... I know. It just seems trivial that the free will to think for yourself has to be given up to be considered good in God's eyes.

How can you properly dlineate a differnce if they are all called the same thing? Wouldn't it be a slur considering all the rest are fakes.

There are volumes of mythology containing the names and complex biographies of thousands of G/gods. There have been temples built for them and sacrifices made to them. Armies killed and died for them. People had comlpete faith that they were real, until of course they realized that they weren't.

Doesn't the very real God that is worshiped today deserve a title that sets Him apart from the rest?

Thanks

I'll give you an example- 99% of people in one country will claim to adhere to islam, and yet another country will be 50% atheist. However, the science community is the same globally. This would indicate to me that religion is based on influence and control, rather than true knowledge or freewill. Another thing that terrifies me is how popular completely made up beliefs are adhered to as fact in more advanced and educated countries, like Bigfoot, ghosts, ufos, etc.

What do you think? A complete failure in heuristic information gathering techniques?
