We have water restrictions here in Sydney and we can water our garden on Wednesdays with a hand held garden hose before 10am and after 4pm. That's fine.... but..
A 60+ year old man was doing just that and a younger pedestrian allegedly took him to task over it, genuinely believing that the more elderly man was contravening the curfew.
An argument allegedly ensued between them and it is said that one turned the garden hose on the other (as you would). The elderly man was allegedly bashed by the pedestrian and died on his way to hospital of a heart failure.
One man dead, one man awaiting trial.... caused by water restrictions. How wrong is that.
I feel for both of them. You?

The old guy was not breaking the law... he was watering when permitted to.
The young guy was mistaken!
The tragedy is that people choose violence to settle their differences.

It is sad, yes, but the younger man is to blame for letting his anger reach the point where he more or less committed murder. If he was that concerned that the elderly man was breaking the law, he could have notified the authorities. He was wrong for responding with such violence; now he has to suffer for his actions.
Whatever his penalty, though, however great his remorse, the other man will never see life again.

That's pretty darn sad and even more so because it simply did not have to happen. It should have never escalated to the point where the old man turned the hose on the pedestrian and the pedestrian should have never let his anger take over to the point where he actually hit an elderly man. At any point one or both could have backed down and it appears that neither of the men chose that path. If nothing else, the young man should have backed off and registered his concerns with some governmental authority or something along those lines.

Clearly, the young man has severe anger problems. He needs to be imprisoned for life. They say that in the future, fresh water will be more valuable than oil and it will lead to wars. Get those desalination plants up and running!

Here in Montana where water wars are quite common and death from these has occurred in the past, we have a saying---Water is for fighting and Whiskey is for drinking--.
I have personally seen my neighbors fist fight right here on the ditch bank beside my house. So I know about water wars. It is the way humans are when something that is very important to them is threatened. Sigh.....

Your right, that is the tragedy because violence begets violence. Problem is that it does not apply to just people, but religions and nations as well.
