I am one. There were a few that I used to hate, but I've grown up since then. No I wouldn't hate you.

Edit: For Chris - We do believe that Jesus Christ paid the price for our sins, died, and raised three days later.

For TexasTrev - Just because there isn't a crucifix does not mean we don't believe in the cruxifiction.

Here is a link to our beliefs of Jesus Christ

I'm an athiest and lived and worked in Brigham City Utah. About as Mormon as it gets. Nice people. It was the sort of community where you left your doors unlocked and your keys in the ignition. And I lived right across from the high school. Nope! I like Mormons for the most part. They seem to practice what they preach and their church offers more than just services. I attended some of their plays that teach a wholesom home life and their social functions. Nothing much worse than a non practicing Mormon. I have seen some call themselves Mormon who drink, smoke, use drugs etc. But invariably they no longer attend or anything. No! I like and admire Mormons. And thanks for your Family History Centers. Never would have been able to trace my family without it. Don't worry folks! They won't push anything on you unless you ask.

Living there, one problem. I found myself socially isolated. Not by Mormons but rather by Mormons decended from arrivals with Brigham Young. Other Mormons received just about the same cold shoulder.

Anyone who hates Mormons must have had their experience with one of the bad ones I mentioned or never known one at all. Hope this answers the question and adds some understanding for others.

I wonder, how is it that our doctrine and beliefs is going to lead us to Hell.

Let's see, We believe that Jesus the Christ is the Son of God and died for our sins. Is that what you believe?
We believe that Jesus is the Savior. Is that your belief also?
We do believe that God the Father and Jesus have glorified bodies. Jesus was resurrected after three days in the Tomb of Joseph of Aramithea. We also believe that loving God is the most important aspect of this life we have on earth. We also believe that the only way to the Father is through the Atonement of Jesus the Christ.

I wonder, what doctrines do we have that will condemn us to bowels of Hell. Is it The Book of Mormon which states that it is another testament of Jesus Christ. Since the Holy Bible is also a history of the Jews in old world, why wouldn't there be a record of a people who also believed in God in this part of the world. Where the only people with the knowledge to write were only in the Mediterranean and Middle East. How about the Chinese and the East Asian Indians. Also, the other sheep that Christ talked about, who were they. Remember that Christ said that he would visit them also. Is any account of Christ after his resurrection meeting any of the Gentiles on the Euro/Asian/African continents. There is I believe a record of his visit to the American continents and that is in the Book of Mormon. How hard is it to believe that Christ in his love for all men and women would only show and teach the Gospel to the people of the Middle East. He had already commisioned the apostles to spread his word to all the gentiles, how would they also travel to the Americas. The land bridge of the Bering Straits was no more.

How difficult is it to comprehend that maybe two sets of small groups through the protection of God and also guidance came to this hemisphere, settled, built up great nations, and then somehow be destroyed due to the lack of faith and the falling away from the Gospel.

Also, Peter P, somehow I already have the feeling that you have already been reported for your off color comment. That is hateful speech that doesn't belong on this site.

No, I don't hate Mormons. I think they're nice people. Where I live, there are soooo many religions and cultures that I went to school w/ a few Mormons and worked with some. So, nope, I wouldn't hate you either.

No, I am one. In my experience, no-one has ever hated me for being a Mormon.... I grew up in a country town, where I was the only active Mormon in my school. People liked me for being different, quirky and having kindness and good morals.

I did have one or two friends who were secretly afraid of me, because their churches had taught them to be. But most people who took me at face value, and made their own assessments, only ever thought well of me and of Mormonism in general.

EDIT: :-) Thnx messageoflove. I love you, too!

No, and no. But from the ones I've gotten to know, I have noticed that they have a very convenient code of ethics. Not that that is unusual nor have mormons cornered the market on that.
But the religion is like all other false religions, it relies on people to save themselves, when that is not possible. It is a lie.

Absolutely not. But the Book of Mormon is such an asinine mess of drivel that anyone who believes a word of it must be considered to be seriously out of his mind -- and since rational thought is essential to survival in this world, any Mormon is at risk. HOWEVER, much of the Mormon teaching of thrift and self-reliance is obviously sound, and the church and its members have prospered as a result, in spite of the absurd theology.

No, I do not hate Mormons and I wouldn't hate you if you were one. I may not understand the religion fully or what drives Mormons to follow specific tenants. My not fully understanding is no reason to dislike someone.

I don't hate any body, I do not want the burden of hate.
I don't always agree with every body, I believe in live and let
live, if it works for you fine, as long as it doesn't hurt any one,
everybody has a right to what they believe.

I don't hate Mormons, but their religion and book is not Biblical. You don't hate people who are misinformed.
Read the history of the Mormon church and how the book came to be.

Galatians 1:8
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
