Why is it a stupid question? Most Christians do the latter.

I am 100% searching for the truth. I started as a Lutheran and when I found things that were not Biblical in that religion, I moved on and started searching. I looked into presbyterian, Catholic, Jehovah's witness, Church of God, Bible Churches, Judaism, Mormon, Methodist, and pentecostal. Each time I found things in the religion that was not Biblical and so I moved on. I kept my mind open to new idea's and I actually learned things from each of these religions.

I started to think there was no religion that went according to the Bible and then I started studying with Seventh Day adventist and I was blown away by how much more I understand the Bible and the way it fits together now! I am still learning and open to idea's that are new to me as long as it doesn't contradict the Bible. Also, if someone can show me why my belief is wrong and back it up with more than one scripture, I am willing to adjust my beliefs.

It can be one or the other or both actually.
Sometimes neither.

Here are some examples.

One guy gets miracles, he can't deny it. So rather than trying to disprove it, he just seeks the rest of the stuff. Like he will try to seek historical backup for the beliefs because he already got a miracle, so he thinks well theres gotta be proof historically etc like that.

OR
He has been logically convinced but he cant bring his heart to come on fire for his beliefs, he feels complacent even though he has no actual objections,
So.
He seeks more evidence or tries to argue with others to hear their objections, so that once he hears their objections he will study the claims to see if he can find an answer to it.

OR, his objections has been answered, can can't bring himself to dedicate his life for the cause, he doesnt want to do charity or maybe he likes porn too much, any addiction, whatever...
So he goes around arguing with unbelievers so he can get them to object or attack to christianity,
then he collects those objections hoping that he can use that and finally appease his guilt and go back to watching his porn, smoking his drugs, having adultery, whatever...

different things like that happen, ive experienced parts of those things that I mentioned but right now I stick to Christianity simply because of a combination of miracles, people, studies, and other miscellaneous stuff like lifestyle.
mainly the intellectual reasons and miracles.
it doesnt hurt that I know authentic people who really live up to their claims of faith, not just churchy people but people who really do what the bible teaches.

the 1st toddler step for you as an atheist believing is to rather admit which you do no longer understand each thing. when you consider which you do no longer understand each thing, you're able to admit that there is a average danger that there is a God, yet you haven't any longer favourite approximately Him. i'm uncertain what the 1st step for me to stop believing could probable be. it fairly is form of like transforming into up with my brother my total existence, yet figuring out that i myself don't have a brother and in no way did. How could that be attainable? possibly ignoring all my prayers that have been spoke back for the previous 30 years - some going against all odds. possibly ignoring the mountains of information that I researched that factors to Jesus existed traditionally and rose from the lifeless. possibly pretending that i did no longer transform from the interior out or feeling His superb presence in my existence. it fairly is stressful for me to overlook those issues. as far as deeply held convictions go, i do no longer think of all people expects in one day adjustments. I used to no longer desire something to do with God. i assumed He replaced into uninteresting. I nevertheless He replaced into undesirable. It wasn't in one day, yet i ultimately found out how super he's over the years.

Yes. (both)

"We must want to know the truth; we manifest that desire by asking, seeking, and knocking; the explicit promise is that He will answer, open, and help us find the truth. As we seek for the truth, we should always bear in mind the counsel of Mormon when he explained, “Wherefore, all things which are good cometh of God; and that which is evil cometh of the devil.” "

John 14:6 (New International Version)

6Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

I'm not searching for either. I have found both in God. I don't need more proof to know that it is the truth.

They aren't mutually exclusive. I think I know the truth, but I'm not so arrogant as to believe I'm right about or, in fact, know everything. So, both of the above.

They will say they are doing or have completed the former, but I strongly suspect they do the latter.

If they are doing either, then they would be lost. The truth is in God and only He has it. If you haven't found Him, then what are you?
