Hmmm...vague? Lets see, prophesying things 2000 years into the future in another world & another lifestyle. For me, 2000 years into the future from today is so non-existent that I cant predict if the sky would still be blue & the grass green, far less predict that a child will born & would be a messiah & he will descend from George W Bush. Or that there will be earthquakes & wars & rumors of wars, & all the other prophesies that were foretold so many thousands of years ago.
Sure predicting wars 2000 years from now may seem a safe bet given the history of the world, but stop to think about it for a few minutes. We are talking about the year 4007 from today. Can u make even one prediction for that year? Are u sure that there will be war? In fact can u predict that there will even be life in the year 4007? The year 2100 isnt even in my vocabulary. And some of these "vague" prophesies were made even thousands of years before that. That is like prophesying into the year 6000 from today.
Vague? Really!

Not it all which is why they are intentionally left vague... that way any little occurrence can be used to justify it in the eyes of those who believe in such nonsense.

Easy if they are self-fulfilling. Like I could give you an odd answer just because someone predicted it.

Non-specificity is most certainly key for pulling off a good "prophecy" scam. If you do a particularly good job of it, you can apparently keep it going for a couple thousand years...

Not too hard, I guess. Perhaps we should consult fortune cookie manufacturers.
