It's a philosophical fantasy epic and everything is metaphorical. These issues are addressed in many other films, you just don't recognize it. Take a long hard look at the Star Wars epic. George Lucas did the same thing. I can't wait to see this film. The series of books that inspired "The Golden Compass" sold over 15 million copies and won awards. I'm sure it will be great.

looking forward to it.
I read the books and think that they are great.
Edit:
BTW, you are wrong. They inadvertently cause the death of the angel that has falsely claimed to be god towards the end of The Amber Spyglass, the third book.
Buy hey, since when have little things like 'facts' been important to Christians like you?

So what? Get over it. You bloody people can't seem to let the idea of "its just entertainment" into your thick skulls. Knock it off already. We're all getting tired of your "world is falling" mentality so that you can't even have fun reading a book or watching a movie. Knock it off. If you want to be stupid, then go ahead, but stop trying to drag us down with you.

I'm not going to see the movies, but the books were really good. I read them several years ago when I was younger. There is something called fiction, and there is nothing wrong with it.

It's a story, that's all, kids have imagination, adults just feel threatened, take it for what it is, a movie.

It's world-wide known atheist, Philip Pullman, doing what atheist's do best......biting off the hand that feeds them. Satan is alive and well, a roaring lion who hates God and all Christians as much as Philip Pullman hates C.S. Lewis and anyone connected to God. I will boycott this movie, as "all" Christians should. There will be many lukewarm believer's who will go see it out of curiousity, but they will find that this type of curiosity has fangs. Stay away from it if you honor the Lord first in your life! Remember, do not be unequally yoked ( this verse is talking more than just intimate relationships ). What does Light have to do with darkness??? Nothing.

I have spread the news far and wide what I cant figure out is why Kidman would be in it. I know that she and the movie maker, who ever it is, will never get one more cent of my money, and if I see burger king, or mcdonalds with little happy meals, they are over as well.

If you don't want to see it...stay home.
Complaining about it will just make it more popular. Remember "The Last Temptation of Christ"?
A singularly awful movie....made million$ because of the "boycotts".

It's portraying to our kids that its OK TO THINK FOR THEMSELVES....
There's NOTHING wrong with that. If you disagree with it...DON'T go see the movie.
I'll be there opening day supporting this movie. The more controversy it creates...the more money it's going to make. So you "holier-than-thou's", by all means, keep screaming.
