Yes. Luke 4:1-13, the devil or satan quotes scriptures to Jesus in a failed attempt to tempt Jesus. Also found in Matthew 4:1-11 and Mark 1: 12&13. James 2:19 KJV "Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble." So, saying you believe means nothing. Have you ever heard the saying "know your enemy"? Well, I am pretty sure the devils know the scripture inside and out and can misquote them to sway even the elect, Satan tried it on Jesus.

First most Christians don't know very much about the Bible, so it wouldn't be hard.

The questions and answers you read on here prove that.

A person asks, "Where does the Bible say . . . ?" and 15 people reply that that's not in the Bible and then five others come along and answer, "Oh yes, that's in Hezekiah 23:18".

The proof Satan does not know it all is found in 1st Corinthians chapter two.

Yes I do Satan has been along much longer than any Christian. He knows God's word he knows everything he is a knock off, Copy Cat or Bootleg of God ( and we know all fakes are not like the real thing). So yes he knows the word better than Christians he knows the end is near and he will lose this battle.

If there is such a Satan, he should know the Scriptures. He may even have corrupted some versions. If he is intelligent enough to know more than most Christians, he ought to know that he'll never win over God.

Yes, Oh Yes, Satan knows the Scripture alright, and uses it Out Of Context in an Order to try to decieve us.
he used it on Jesus while He was fasting for 40 day's.

The devil can use this phrase also. He quotes Scripture, and we can trust that the devil has memorized the Bible himself, and is an expert at quoting it out of its context to confuse and defeat those he tempts. This time, the devil quoted Psalm 91:11-12, and took it out of its context to say, "Go ahead, Jesus; if You do this the Bible promises angels will rescue You, and it will be spectacular self-promotion."

Jesus, replies Mat 4:7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. (Deu 6:16 )

Read Mat Chapter 4.

simple argument: presuppose satan exists...

he was around when scripture was being written! he can see anything anyone does! of course he knows the scripture! He was there!

that aside, whos to say he didnt have a hand in writing it or copying it from generation to generation? do you know for certian? just because it says so? well couldnt that be satan trying to make you believe? the most devious of devious entities surely has the power to pose as the force of Good and Right.

Of course satan knows the scripture. he knows it better than I do. Look at where satan temps Christ in the desert. He was quoting direct scripture to Christ, trying to make Him fall.

Everything satan does is against God. So he has to know scripture in order to do that.

Satan knows God's word inside and out and uses it every day to confuse people. There is only a thin line between what is God and what is Satan. Read Job.
