Not at all. I've had Jewish people wish me a Happy Hannukah. I don't mind. There's nothing wrong with a Christian having a happy Hannukah, or being happy during Hannukah. Even if one doesn't celebrate that particular holiday, there's no harm in being happy or being wished happiness.
I've never been wished a Happy Ramadan. I wouldn't mind it if I was, though.
A happy solstice wish would be fine too. I don't see how it is more or less politically correct, though.
I think a lot of people get too bent out of shape about this stuff. I notice people getting "offended" by being wished happy this or merry that. Why not just say "thanks! same to you!"? And then there are the people who get all bent out of shape about the term "happy holidays" -- there's nothing wrong with that either.

Stolstice and Christmas are celebrated the same way for the most part. Tree and gifts...Mistletoe is from the druids who celebrated Christ's mass. Calendars still say "Christmas" not solstice. Most people don't know when solstice is, or what is it. Look up the words christmas calendar in your search engine, there's a large listing. enjoy!
Do you not celebrate Easter, or is it equinox for you? Valentine's Day is named for St. Valentine, as is St. Patrick's Day. What names do you have for these?

In my country, Christmas has overflowed the boundaries of a religious holiday and has become part of the culture. It has lots of secular aspects too, so it makes sense to wish just about everyone a Merry Christmas.
so, no, even though I'm not a Christian, it doesn't bother me. I rarely get bent out of shape over people offering me a gesture of good will and kindness, I try to take it in the spirit in which it was intended.

Happy solstice? Who the hell says that? Happy holidays is the normal greeting and don't assume all Christians are ignorant just because someone you know had the audacity to say Merry Christmas to you.

Why are you offended by it? How does it hurt you to have someone wish you Merry Christmas?
Relax a bit and don't be such a jerk. I have people wish me a Happy Hanukkah and I just smile and wish it back to them. Only a self righteous prig would be offended by such a statement that was offered in happiness.
I'm not a Christian but I have no issue with Christmas.
Seriously, you need to talk with a professional about your hatred of others and especially Christians.

So some stranger, who's in a happy mood, decides to spread some cheer and essentially wishes you well, but uses a word that isn't part of your belief/unbelief system. This offends you? Should Christians biff you if you say, "seasons greetings?" They don't think it's a season.
Should we poll people for their beliefs before greeting them? Or maybe just all walk around with a scowl on our face.
I don't celebrate Christmas, but I'm certainly not offended if someone wishes me well.

From what i've got examine, I understand which you hate your buddy, yet you do no longer would desire to be so rude approximately it. You sound very conserved, have not got time for foolishness, and extremely severe. Plus, no longer being her buddy as a results of fact all human beings hates her is in all possibility the worst excuse i've got ever heard. If something, it might make you opt for to be her buddy, so as that she does not sense so lonely. interpreting that final sentence, you stated you have been a shy man or woman and do unlike that approximately your self, and via your description she sounds very outgoing and does not care if she seems "silly." in line with possibility you 2 ought to earnings some issues from one yet another; she will instruct you approximately being greater outgoing, and you will instruct her to mellow out some. That way you 2 can discover a stability. a splash widespread certainty as nicely, and that i will tell this from journey, the happiest all human beings is in many cases the main depressed. i don't understand, in spite of the undeniable fact that this is something to think of roughly. yet once you nevertheless opt for to in basic terms cut back your losses from her, in simple terms tell her you do no longer opt for to be her buddy anymore. basic. actually, ignoring her and making your self unavailable could in simple terms make issues worse and bring about undesirable and unneeded disagreement. desire this permits.

I don't know about solstice... I try to say "Happy Holidays".
Its what THEY believe in and so they come from a point of view where that's "the norm" and yes you're right, it is an assumption... I personally choose not to be so sensitive about it because you can't stop them from saying it, you can snap back at them or get your own blood boiling over it, but it's just for one month you have to deal with this crap.
I HATE the holidays. I hate the christmas lights, santa b.s. and the shopping rush. I have no family to celebrate with so the whole Holiday idea sucks to me. So when people say "Happy Holidays" I don't even like it... but I don't snap at them because they aren't mind readers and they can't know my situation...

Well, in situations it makes sense:
In a christian store, if you are buying Christmas decorations, if you are wearing a Santa costume, if the person saying it celebrates Christmas and wants to wish you a happy day

76 percent of the population of these United States are Christians. Anyway, the Atheist are always claiming our sacred day to be that of Pagan origin, so I would imagine with this thought you should be well satisfied.
Anyway, most business's are now forced to send out Happy Holiday cards now as not to offend the minority in our Population.
