How about it? Do you have a favorite saint or favorite pope from now or antiquity?

I've seen it often, a Christian will say that religion is wrong, and claim they are not a part of a religion, and what they have is a personal relationship with Christ.

These Christians, who don't belong to the Christian relgion, do they not worship Jesus every Sunday (or other days of the week) at a church with other members who have the same set of beliefs?

I find this article interesting (below), with perhaps the most interesting line including the words "none of the actual Apostles thought that they themselves were establishing a "church" in our sense, independent of Judaism." Is this common thinking among Catholics, or Christians in general? I am also impressed with the lines "Pope Benedict is attempting to restore, by fiat, the first naiveté of "one true church." In an age of global pluralism, this is simply not tenable." What do you think?

is there any wonder why Americans rank at the bottom of the list in math and science among industrialized nations?

It took a lawsuit to keep Intelligent Design out of classrooms and George Bush says "The jury is still out on evolution."

In the past the church was very brutal in its efforts to spread Christianity. Has a pope ever apologized to the world for all those horrific deaths?

A real Jew l;ives in Israel. Serves in the military. Will fight and die for Israel and his god. Eats kosher.
Where do you stand? What is your standard for being a real Jew? Do you think that Israel is a target because it has always been a target. Is your safety the reason you live in America?

Since God gave us the option to choose to believe, I've decided to start believing now.

I've said that I accept Jesus Christ as my personal savior.

What's next? How come I don't feel anything?

If you've never seen him
Never heard Him

The only thing you have of "proof" of him is a book which might not even be true. How do you know that the bible is true? It could be some really old geeks who were trying to start a new phase like SPUD. All you've ever done is hear stories...how do you know those stories are true? How do you know that Jesus even existed?
You say God is not evil but when he KILLED (number) people in the STORY of Noah's ark was he being good? How do you mnow that God is a he, he could be a she. And according to us you cannot reproduce without a male and female...so how can god have a so.

Answer this and you'll get 10 points!!!!1

Mary had a little lamb,
His fleece was white as snow.
And everywhere that Mary went,
The Lamb was sure to go.
He followed her to school each day,
'Twasn't even in the rule.
He made the children laugh and play,
To have the Lamb at school.
And then the rules all changed one day,
Illegal it became;
To bring the Lamb of God to school,
Or even speak his name.
Every day got worse and worse,
And days turned into years.
Instead of hearing children laugh,
We heard gunshots and tears.
What must we do to stop the crime,
That's in our schools today?
Let's let the Lamb come back to school,
And teach our kids to pray!

Do you think we should let religion, and not just Christianity, back into schools?

In Matthew 16:18 the Lord says, "And I also say to you that you are Peter, (Petros, or piece of rock) and on this rock (Petra, or Mass of rock) I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. Did Jesus not mean that the Rock upon which the church was to be built was himself, and not Peter, who in comparison was only a little rock.
See for comparison 1 Corinthians 10:4 which says, " and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock (Petra, Mass of rock) that followed them, and that Rock was Christ.

Someone made an interesting point in another question of mine:

It's a very dangerous political problem. Certain evangelical Christians have formed an informal alliance with certain Zionist Jews to get what each one wants. These Christians believe that rebuilding of the Temple on the Temple Mount is an important sign of the "end times". The Zionists would just like to see the Temple rebuilt. Each party does indeed anticipate their version of the "Messiah" and are actively hoping that they can bring his appearance about.

Unfortunately, God apparently didn't get a copy of the memo. The "good deal" is all in the minds of the zealots, who disregard the political fallout of their plans. Suppose they gave an armageddon and Jesus didn't come? Or what if Islam and the Dome of the Rock is God's way of saying, "Don't try to take matters into your own hands"? All we need is to have someone a little too enthusiastic with the wrong button under his finger.

they have ten rules,

we have probably 10,000 and up per state.

we don't condone vigilante justice, something the bible asks people to embrace quite readily.

so don't we respect order more than the bible?

Our environmental and food guidelines are probably a hell of a lot more strict than any biblical dietary laws to ensure clean food.

while there might be a few things we permit that the bible doesn't (blasphemy, worshipping golden calves, etc.) we have taken the worst of all crimes (murder, rape, theft) and created severe punishments for them.

no longer can you get away with murdering your neighbor by providing him with 30 heads of cattle. no now you do hard time.

doesn't morality work both ways as well that it is immoral if the punishment doesn't fit the crime (I mean in the judeo-christian concept of morality- as thats what the bible is).

According to Nostradamus, 2012 represents the end of the world. It seems like most of his prophecies have become true. The mayans also recognize 2012 as being the end. What do you think?

Exactly why is it that when someone says something that certain Christians disagree with they roll out the..'As a true Christian' card. Do you consider other people, who disagree with your position, to be false Christians? What’s your secret? What makes you so perfect? What makes you a true Christian as opposed to a false one? Is a true Christian a Christian a person who accepts the trinity? Is a true Chirstian a person who rejects the trintiy? Is a true Christian a Christian who was baptized a s a baby or as an adult? Is a true Christian a Protestant or a Catholic Christian? Let's get to the bottom of this once and for all shall we?
