Yes, that means that "Mary had a little lamb" is a Christmas carol! I've been (jokingly) saying that for years.
Mary probably did go to school when she was a child to learn to read. I doubt she had any advanced education, because universities and such weren't around then.

No it has nothing to do with Jesus and Mary,it is simply a children`s nursery rhyme, unlike the `Twleve Day`s of Christmas which is all to do with God,Jesus and salvation.
