Since God gave us the option to choose to believe, I've decided to start believing now.

I've said that I accept Jesus Christ as my personal savior.

What's next? How come I don't feel anything?

Because there is nothing to feel. Except, perhaps, less intelligent as the brain cells pass away.

You dont feel anything in the beginning except a feeling of happiness that you have joined the family of Christ. The next step is to read the Bible. Start off small and read a little at a time. The kind of Bible you get sometimes will determine the amount that you really understand. But, remember that the Lord will give you all you need to understand His word. You just have to believe that He will. Pray everyday as many times a day as you want. Communicating with God about your real feelings develops that bond so that you really feel Him personally on the inside. Join a church. You dont have to do so right away the first time you visit, but make sure that you meet peope who are believers. The Bible tells us to fellowship and worship and that is what the church is all about.

The most important thing you can do for yourself is realize that once Jesus comes into your heart you are a new creation. You do not have to be like you used to but you are still human and will make mistakes. All of God's children sin from time to time and it is important to not put His children who were born into sin just like yourself on a pedalstal that will lead to disappointment. People are people no matter what and there is no reason for you to think that over night they are going to become someone else. Being a christian is all about transformation into holiness. And that takes time. You will begin to notice that as your relationship with Christ grows so will your life.

Welcome to the Family!

Go into your closet and after you have closed the door, pray to the Father in scret, tell the Father who arts in heaven, that you accept and now take the gift of the Holy Spirit that Jesus promised those who believe in His words. Do not speak this from your mouth, but speak it from your heart, in the name of Jesus. And God the Father will give it to you. You will feel great joy overcome you when you receive the Holy Spirit.

Know do all that is good according to the Words spoken only by Jesus and His witness John, believe in the Words of no other including the words spoken by Moses, the Prophets, Peter or Paul. You are a disciple of Jesus the Christ and as a disciple you are to follow and trust in only His Words.

Many things Jesus will show and teach you, any many you will not believe in your heart, but they are the truth, believe in all of His Words, and the truth shall make you free.

The next step is to read the 4 gospels 7 hours per day and as you read fast from 6 am until 6pm. Do this for 21 days in a row, go back into your closet and ask the Father in the name of Jesus, to send the Spirit of Truth to make you understand the Words, do all that the Words have told you to do. and then fast another 19 days, read the 4 Gospels and read all that Jesus commands you to read. and on the 41st day the mysteries of heaven and earth will begin to reveal themselves to you. Always give God the Father, the prasie and Glory, for the things He has shown and done for you. Never pray to Jesus, or anyone else.

I'm glad to hear that you're taking that step of faith. You'll find that there will be many who will insult you for making this great decision you have, but stand strong. As for your not feeling anything yet, you may not. It's a changing process that we go through that after we've accepted Jesus as our savior, as the Messiah. The best thing to do right now, being so new in the faith is to read the Bible (I'd start with the new testament) and pray honestly and openly to God, for Him to lead you and start to change you.

I too was where you were once. Didn't feel any immediate change. I started reading the Bible and as I did, saw how I fell short, how the world around us is immersed in sin and began being repulsed by it.

May the Lord bless you with His wisdom. :)

First of all, becoming a Christian is about truth, not about feelings. I love my children even when I don't feel like it because I made that choice. Secondly it's more than believing -- Satan believes in Jesus, that doesn't make him a Christian. You need to read the Bible -- the book of John is a good starting place -- and get into a good fellowship of believers to grow in Christ. Get to know God and then see how you feel, but being a Christian isn't a feel good pill. You still have bad days and hard times. You just don't have to face them all alone anymore.

Because if Christianity was based on feelings, that wouldn't be much of a faith, would it? Feelings come and go, and yes, some people do have certain feelings upon accepting Jesus. But you now have a personal relationship with God, with the Creator of the universe! You can go to Him with anything. I cherish my relationship with God dearly; He has gotten me through the toughest times. I would start with reading the Bible to start learning more about God, and find a Bible-believing church to go to. There are tons of resources to learn all sorts of stuff about the Christian life, but I think getting to know other Christians is a good start. Remember, becoming a Christian won't make your life perfect, but it's really awesome. =) Let me know if you have any questions about anything.

Faith is not about feeling. It is about a relationship. If you have asked God to forgive your sins, and have trusted Christ to pay for those sins, you are saved from the penalty of those sins. That gives some a wonderful feeling, others not. Trust in the Word of God, not in your feelings. Feelings change, but the Word of God abides unchanged forever.

Get involved in a good Bible-believing church, where you can find other Christians to help you grow. The Bible says that "iron sharpens iron" and for us not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together. It will be necessary to find good Christian friends, to help keep you encouraged, because living for God in a godless world can sometimes be tough and even discouraging.

Romans 12:2 says "Do not be conformed to this world, but instead be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you can discern what the good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God is". This transformation begins when we trust Christ as Savior and continues throughout our lives.

Take time each day to thank God for your salvation!

God Bless You and welcome to the Family of God!

Remember your ABC's:

A: Admit you are a sinner. (For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, (Romans 3:23)).

B: Believe that Christ is LORD. (I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the Father, except through me. (John 14:6)).

C: Confess with your mouth that he is LORD. (That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)).

After that, I would suggest getting yourself a Bible (if you don't already own one), and read it every day. Start attending a good church. I would personally suggest a pentecostal church, because I believe they are the most spiritualy moving. I have attended a lot of denominational churches, and they seem to be the most spirit-filled (which is what you are asking for).

If you go through all that, and truly seek God for who he is. You will find him, and you will feel him!!
("Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." (Matthew 7:7)).

That is what I have felt for the past three times I have recomitted myself to Christ. There is not just one feeling that you are supposed to feel. Then the question is, what is the point? The point is that you know have a reason to live. A purpose that you have. A purpose to live. Try to have daily devotions from your Bible (I have tried and failed several times, but really try). Also, try to pray, because the bible says in Matthew 7:8, "For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened."

Good, you just started a celebration in the heavens.
What next?
* Get a Bible, start reading it. You need to know more about the Lord and the instructions he left for us while we are down here.
* Start communicating with God on a daily basis, we call this prayer.
* Look for a church were you can study the Bible, join the congregation in praise to The Lord and into sharing His love with others.
---
It is not by feelings but by faith and acting according to the faith.

Then what do you think, who is God? Do you have eternal life? Who are the children of God? Feelings have nothing to do with faith. You either except by faith or you don't and you need some assurance other than His promises... IHS Jim
