who knows. Maybe there would not have been a crusades. I know a lot of the early christians maybe would still be alive. Since they were condemed for being christians, and put to death. Maybe there would have been different wars, about something else.

Christianity tends to flourish under persecution.

Look at how well it went while it was underground in China from 1947 til the present day?

The result of bad churches is that it makes the good ones stand out so much more.

Purely speculative.

But if there had been no crusades pushed by popes, then there may not have been the black plague that decimated much of Europe.

No inquisition.

More religious freedom of thought and practice.

No suppression of the sciences.

Yea, might have been terrible....

What makes you think that everything that the catholic says is true. Read your bible!! Look what is happening in the church now? I was catholic now I am Lutheran. I do not idolize anything but God as per the bible. They pray to the virgin Mary. you figure it out??

Catholics didn't give anybody a Bible. Catholics murdered those found owning a Bible.

The Bible was given to us by God through the Jewish people. Catholics had nothing to do with it.
