Mary had a little lamb,
His fleece was white as snow.
And everywhere that Mary went,
The Lamb was sure to go.
He followed her to school each day,
'Twasn't even in the rule.
He made the children laugh and play,
To have the Lamb at school.
And then the rules all changed one day,
Illegal it became;
To bring the Lamb of God to school,
Or even speak his name.
Every day got worse and worse,
And days turned into years.
Instead of hearing children laugh,
We heard gunshots and tears.
What must we do to stop the crime,
That's in our schools today?
Let's let the Lamb come back to school,
And teach our kids to pray!
Do you think we should let religion, and not just Christianity, back into schools?

I think religion should be in school, not forced, but children should be taught about it.

For the eight millionth time:
You CAN still pray in public schools.
You CAN hang a cross in your locker.
You CAN even set up your own student Bible study club.
The only thing you CAN'T do, is use tax dollars (which is what public schools run on) to favor one religion over another. That means no GROUP prayer for an entire class, led by the teacher, since not everybody necessarily wants to participate. It also means no praying over the loudspeakers, no posting the Ten Commandments on the bulletin board (unless you're simultaneously going to allow people to post dogma from other religions, such as the Wiccan rede or Buddhist 8-fold path), and no using the school photocopier to make "free" copies of church programs.
Once again, for the clueless: Christianity (let alone "God" or "religion") has not been "taken out of [public] schools". STUDENTS can practice it all they want, provided it's not a disruption. You just can't have the SCHOOL make rules and practices that favor one religon over the others.
I don't know why so many zealots can't tell the difference between the two. This is NOT rocket science!

I was in kindergarten in a catholic school. I switched to public school in the 3rd grade. I can tell you that there was no difference except I was more advanced. The catholic school kids were just a good/bad as the public school kids. So I don't care either way what they do. But it's like the 2nd person said, it's how we raise our children. My nephews are the youngest people I know personally, 13 and 17. They were raised in this new era. They are not perfect but they were raised right. They wouldn't go in an shoot up a school and mostly because my brother and sister in law will be more scarey than the police. Be more influential as parents than their friends are as peers.

I think it should be taught objectively. I had many teachers bring out their own beliefs through biased teaching, and this even just in classes like history, science, and literature. We are told we need to tolerate everything these days, yet talking specifically about religious topics is taboo in schools, or at least was in my middle school ten years ago. Why not let kids share their beliefs with others just like we showed our favorite toys in show and tell? Yes there will be arguments and controversy. But these kids grow up to be adults, and it just isn't working.

Regardless of the problems ACLU groups have caused schools are not the only places children can be taught to pray.
Since the Bible teaches "One" God what kind of religion is there besides Christianity........Christianity means "Christ-Like"

Jesus watches over all of us. Pray for the schools and for the nation so that we may turn back to the Lord. With out Jesus help nothing will change and we as a nation will continue to go down the wrong path until God has had enough and decides that our staff will be removed.

Yes. . .that was awesome !!!
Further more. . as long as there are tests and pop quizzes. . there will always be prayer in school
and last but not least. . . this country was founded on freedom of religion. . why do they feel the need to try and abolish that from school where we so need it.??
everyone is free to practice all of their beliefs. . ..but not those that believe in God like everyday Christians. . what a shame.

Sure, but not using the vehicle they want to use (i.e. creationism/ID). Their is nothing wrong with a humanities survey of religions course taught in public schools.

It would be great, if they had that opportunity!! Wouldn't it!
But because on 1 woman...out it went. Say huh?
But now It is in little small doses.
My son just brought home for home work something about the Gennie of the dessert-something to do with the muslim religion.:(
I think Christian schools is the way-or what ever religion you are...public schools is out now, that was Once upon a time, now they have to have their parents take full responsibility for that knowledge.
Pray for the schools...they are a Mess!!
Jesus keep an eye on our kids!

yes i think that thing need to go back to the old times, back when if you didn't like something you could like it or leave it. my 6 year old son got in school suspension friday for saying that he was sitting "indian style". when i called the school they said that this was offensive language and would not be tolerated, and my son was totally confused. i think there are way too many winey people in this world and everything offend someone. i say deal with it, in the old days when they could practice religion in school, how many kids brought guns and bombs to school???
IN GOD WE TRUST, i hope this doesn't offend any one :)
