what do you think the pstor would say?

I was raised Catholic, I still consider myself Catholic, I feel the most comfortable at a Catholic church, etc. etc.

But I must say that I am pro-choice..and at mass every week there is some talk about abortion, and it makes me feel out of place.

Why are you SO devoted to the battle against abortion? Much more than Protestants?

I know I have.

I was fairly ignorant about atheism, for one, before I came here. I am so pleased to have met so many great people here from many walks of life and with different spiritual beliefs.

Stalkers have made it harder here, unfortunately, but I am still here.

John 10:30 " I and my father are one" - This could be interpreted by logic as meaning Jesus thought of himself at one with Gods word.
John 14:9 " he who has seen me , has seen the father" - he that follows me will see the father
john 14:6 "I am the way, and the truth, and the life;no one comes to the father, except through me - I am the teacher of truth, of a way of life, the only way to heaven is by following my teachings ( his word)

these excerts are given as evidence to Jesus' divinity, but it is all down to the interpretation of the reader. What do you make of this? do you see another interpretation of this text?

with her whenever she wanted? People are either spiritual or religious now and most no better that that is abuse so how come men in those days did that and were allowed too? Did it have anything to do with religion where man was made to believe he had all control over a women and the thing is man has no control over a women and should never have.

I am 20 years old and since aug.06 my life was changed when i met a 20 year old man that was a muslim and at first i was hesitant because before i met him i always said i would never let myself fall in love with a muslim and i didnt but i dont know what happened. I live in a muslim community(columbus, oh) and before i would deny my time to any muslim, i wont say i hated them but had strong dislike for them and now that we have fallen in deep love with each other i spend my time with him than my family and my mom is so sad because she says i have forsaken my saviour because i havent attended church in a long time and when i do i pay no attention, is this wrong of me, have i really forsaken him for love? when i was younger i always said when i heard the Easter story and heard that paul ( i think) denied Jesus 3 times before he was crucified that i would never do that just like paul said he wouldnt and Jesus said yes you will, i feel bad but have come to terms w/myself to stop seeing him

Hint # 1: , she has earned our respect and appreciation, and consequently we have given her over 8,000 stars this year.

Hint # 2: It seems she has never offended anyone, yet some jealous jerk (person) stalked her account and caused her first account with 4500 stars and over 48,000 points to be "suspended"/deleted.

Hint #3: She is so loving that she encouraged me to love/show compassion for the stalker who "suspended" my last few accounts.

Hint #4: She has now bounced back and we love and respect and find her questions so great that ...... she now has over 3500 stars in her new account.

Hint #5: Yesterday was her birthday. (It was actually "fun" to wish her a Happy Birthday)

(I am sorry for rambling, but I just couldn't keep myself from posting this question.)

Are you choosing a "truth" and "reality" that jives with where you are spiritually, mentally, and emotionally.

Are you joyful and loving? Are you able to BE the change you believe in? Can you accept others or do you insist on "saving them".

...You can't remove the needle from another's eye until you remove the rafter from your own...

(Some here may be able to provide the proper Biblical verse.)

Ok I think I am ready to take the plunge to become an official VT. I did not want to take the credentials by meer assumption ( I know some of you work hard for yours) so I was wondering if there was a test or resume submission that I needed to partake in.

I was reading today's Gospel, Luke 18:9-14, and I don't understand it. Any help appreciated.

Here it is:

9And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:

10Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.

11The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector.

12I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.

13And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

14I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

That people in this section are divided in 2 big cathegories: very intelligent people, and very stupid people.

I met many really smart people with an open mind and that make a lot of sense in their questions and in their answers.

And on the other hand, I met others who's answers just make you go : "pfffffff"

Maybe it's a strategy, say something really dumb and make all those who read it just become speechess.

What do you think?

Here's the deal. I'm not saying I agree or disagree with it. But a children's book should not even have any sexuality related to it, straight or gay, because it doesn't concern the main character's story.

Children's books, if that is what the Harry Potter books really are, and they seem at first to be, should not be even related with sexuality.

Is it possible that J.K. Rowling has a different plan underlying all this? I don't know what it is, maybe to make kids turn homosexual. But I don't think it is for the good of the children, whatever it is.

If the people are the church than what is the purpose of many to follow in this tradition of separating themselves with religion instead of following Gods laws like he commanded. Especially when it has been found that there is paganism in the church. Please have an educated answer. I am really curious.

I used to believe this but not anymore. If it is true the JC is the only way then most people in history were never saved or will not be saved. Just think about this: most saved people will come from those parts of the world where Christianity has the most influence - not in southeast Asia - not in China- not in many parts of Africa, etc. Furthermore, the knowledge of JC has not reached most people in history and still does not reach billions of people today for a couple of reason but mainly because most people (billions) could not read. Today there are billions of people who cannot read or don't have a bible in their language and have never heard of JC. Yes! Even in 2007 there are people who have never heard of JC.

The simply fact is that most people (not all as there are exceptions) born a Muslim, live a Muslim, die a Muslim; most people born a Mormon, live as a Mormon, die a Mormon; born a Budhist, live a Budhist, die a Budhist, etc. etc.
