If the people are the church than what is the purpose of many to follow in this tradition of separating themselves with religion instead of following Gods laws like he commanded. Especially when it has been found that there is paganism in the church. Please have an educated answer. I am really curious.

You've got to understand a few things.

One- Christianity is not the oldest religion.
Two- The Bible is not the only holy book.
Three- you'll never convince a non Christian of ANYTHING using the Bible. Not EVER. If they thought the Bible was a reliable authority, they'd already be a Christian.

Many of us don't see Yahweh's commandments as having anything to do with us. We have our own things our gods expect of us. And yes, not everyone takes it as a given that there is only one god.

That said, the Bible does mention other religions. Not always negatively, actually. And god only commanded His chosen people. The whole world are not His chosen people. It was one tribe. That's it. Just for fun, here's a website about that.

Religion needn't be a dividing force. Why worry about anyone elses relationship (or lack of it) with God if it doesn't affect you personally? Religion doesn't divide us- intolerance does. I reccommend learning more about various religions so that you can understand other perspectives. You don't have to give up your own religion to learn about others. I'd never ask it of you so why should you ask it of me?

Bottom line- you may have the right answer- for you. But the right answer differs from person to person and culture to culture. There are different religions and philosophies in the world because we are all so different, and need different things in our spiritual lives. It's not wrong. It just is.

The BEST education you will ever get on this matter is this, the Bible is NOT religion. It is a set of observations through the ages. You take from it what you will.

Humans, being a fractous lot, tend to take great umbrage at someone elses "ignorant" approach to a particular line, passage, story, lesson, in the book, hence, religous partitioning. And in that partitioning are innumeral subsets of that religion.

The ONLY people that cannot SEE this silliness are those hopelessly trapped in the effort to drownned out their nemesis. Sad waste of time for a beautiful Sunday morning.

Simply put it doesn't... BUT other religions are mentioned in the bible. Remember, God made man...man made religions. AND they have always been a divisive force in history. And there's nothing, in and of itself, wrong with paganism. If you're trying to put paganism down, you're putting yourself in the same pair of shoes as all the other followers of their religions.
God doesn't care whether or not you follow a religion, or for that matter are an athiest. We are all God's creation and He loves us all.

Kill Followers of Other Religions.

1) If your own full brother, or your son or daughter, or your beloved wife, or you intimate friend, entices you secretly to serve other gods, whom you and your fathers have not known, gods of any other nations, near at hand or far away, from one end of the earth to the other: do not yield to him or listen to him, nor look with pity upon him, to spare or shield him, but kill him. Your hand shall be the first raised to slay him; the rest of the people shall join in with you. You shall stone him to death, because he sought to lead you astray from the Lord, your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery. And all Israel, hearing of this, shall fear and never do such evil as this in your midst. (Deuteronomy 13:7-12 NAB)

2) Suppose a man or woman among you, in one of your towns that the LORD your God is giving you, has done evil in the sight of the LORD your God and has violated the covenant by serving other gods or by worshiping the sun, the moon, or any of the forces of heaven, which I have strictly forbidden. When you hear about it, investigate the matter thoroughly. If it is true that this detestable thing has been done in Israel, then that man or woman must be taken to the gates of the town and stoned to death. (Deuteronomy 17:2-5 NLT)

I don't believe that there are supposed to be different religions. This is something that 'man' started. It's almost like a club. When little kids form a club and they have their 'rules' if there is someone who wants to be in the club but they don't believe the same way, they start a club with different rules and get others to follow them.

Goes on and on.

Religions are the traditions of man and not of God.

DO THE WILL OF GOD
You need to find a home church that preaches sound doctrine, be obedient, follow his word, be baptized with the holy spirit, show your self approved and do the will of God (Mark 16: 15 - 18)

Perhaps the bible (what ever version you are reading) doesn't have all your answers. If that which you seek is not found within your inner self, you will never find it from without.

It says exactly the opposite - that there is to be ONE faith, ONE baptism, ONE Church. Manmade denominational religion exists in open opposition to the stated will of God.

The Bible does not say or there is no verse in the Bible that says that there supposed to be many religions, however, the Bible states reasons why do there are different religions found, especially, in our times.

First, these pastors or say religious leaders, their intention is to have money or gain, according to 2 Corinthians 2:17 (NIV),

"Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for PROFIT. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, like men sent from God."

See, there are people who (according to St. Paul) peddle the word of God for PROFIT. To prove, look at many religious leaders now, most of them are wealthy for themselves, collecting tithes and offering from members, without actually teaching the truth.
And as according to Micah 3:11 (ESV):

Its heads give judgment for a BRIBE; its priests teach for a PRICE; its prophets practice divination for MONEY; yet they lean on the LORD and say,"Is not the LORD in the midst of us? No disaster shall come upon us."

Another reason is according to Romans 10:3 (KJV):

" For they being IGNORANT of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their OWN righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God."

These people seek to establish their own, for they are ignorant of God's word or righteousness, they departed themselves from word of God in the Bible. They just take one or two verses in the Bible, then, they talk and talk and talk by themselves, from their own selves for an hour or two or more. Just observe most preachers nowadays, they cannot even find basis from the Bible, the things that they say or do, and what they made their followers do. And worst they wrest what is written in the scriptures,
said in 2 Peter 3:16 (KJV),

"As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable WREST, as they do also the other Scriptures, unto their own destruction."

WREST - (meaning)
1. To distort or twist the nature or meaning of: wrested the words out of context.
2. To divert to an improper use; misapply.

Being unstable and unlearned (ignorant), they put (teach) their own distorted or twisted meaning of the words of God in the Scriptures.

That's why if you are really seeking for the truth, BEWARE!

2 Peter 3:17 (KJV)
"Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, BEWARE lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness."

Matthew 24:4-5 (KJV)
"[4]And Jesus answered and said unto them, TAKE HEED that no man deceive you.[5] For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many."

For there are many false prophets and many false teachers nowadays!

2 Peter 2:1 (RSV)
"But FALSE prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be FALSE teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction."
